Just look at Lemmy and how many communities defederate from one another because of ideological disagreements
Lol…
Decentralizing isn’t good if you want everyone in the same spot, that is correct…
But why does everyone need crammed together?
Some people just don’t vibe, if no one wants to federate with an instance, they don’t have to.
I’ll never understand why people who grew up with big social media are so hung up up on this idea that one platform has to host everyone.
Like, a shit ton of fractured forums was the norm for decades, long before Facebook, twitter, or insta. Everyone going to the same place is a new thing, and if people are here it’s because they didn’t think it worked out.
You don’t, you think it’s great for insanely wealthy tech ros to control every conversation.
Cool.
Go there, none of us care

@GrapheneOS I respect your work, but if you use 'authoritarian' and 'the Netherlands' in one sentence then that word loses all of its meaning. Same goes for the other countries you mentioned.
@bart We said each of these countries is becoming increasingly authoritarian surveillance states which is factual. Human rights are degrading and there are ongoing attacks on open source privacy projects in each country.
The Netherlands is where Alexey Pertsev was arrested, held for a very long time without a trial and then convicted for writing open source privacy software. They're actively persecuting developers of open source software.
You can ignore it and live under a rock if you wish.
@voxel lmao couldn't get hikari, wayland compositor to launch anything, turns out I had to install literally any fonts first :V

ok maybe the skirt mesh needs some work because right now the bottom faces are attached to the bottom of the transparent part and not the forced-opaque part
also the top of the leg goes through the skirt a bit in the walking animation
and the sitting animation makes no sense with the skirt

Every country name in Māori is derived in some way from it's English name except for France, "Wīwī", which comes from the way French sailors kept saying "oui, oui"
@ferrebam Jolla has made multiple announcements about this and there's no point denying it happened. The same management who chose to form a deep partnership with Russia and to take a massive amount of Russian state investment are still the people running Jolla.
Putin invaded Ukraine in 2014, 1 year before the partnership with Jolla. His government has been clearly authoritarian and openly killing political opponents for a long time. SailfishOS was developed in partnership with his government.
@GrapheneOS I understand. Similarly we can say the same of all companies that collaborate in some way with the U.S. and Israeli governments, countries that have not respected (nor respected) international law, just as Russia has done.
I don't think it's okay but what you think is irrelevant, the world works like this.
Just letting this branch of social media know, but a certain producer whom you may or may not know named Machigerita just so happened to post a new song for Halloween this year, which may or may not be sort of kind of ridiculously significant

@mastodonmigration
Sorry, trust once gone, rarely comes back without some extensive demonstration of trustworthy actions. A few stories are insufficient.
@Dougfir Agreed. Once people recognize how they are being manipulated, the trust is never regained. That is why it is important that they do.

@sun that too, but as other cultures adopted egypotion gods like zeus-ammun they didnt really keep the visual language and like this is less about respectingthe religious practice itself than it is about a specific artstyle that has an orientalist appeal
@mer egyptian religion was multicultural wasn't it?
