Aaron Swartz was a digital rights champion who believed in the need for an open internet.
His life was cut short in 2013,
after federal prosecutors charged him under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) for systematically downloading academic journal articles from the online database JSTOR.
Facing the prospect of a long and unjust sentence, Aaron died by suicide at the age of 26.

With the organizers of Aaron Swartz Day, we’re honoring his life with an in-person and remote hackathon.
This event is supported by several organizations that carry on his work, including the Internet Archive

I have the Dirtywave M8 tracker and have silly amounts of fun with it. Something about the vertical timeline and freedom from linear thinking really brings me a lot of joy. I recently picked up the iOS app as well so now I always have a fun way to make music close by :)

We shouldn’t be forced to use toxic platforms that track and profile us in order to get public information.
Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube track and profile their users so that they can target advertising towards them.
Their business models fuel online harms by pushing more and more extreme content to users. Despite this, these platforms are one of the primary ways that government departments share public information.
Tell your MP to support the EDM calling on the UK Government to ensure that all public sector social media content is published on open, decentralised and federated platforms!

When we left, this other woman, who sat across an aisle from us, got in front of us as we walked to the car, and did that attempted hip displacement walk. My gf says to me, "That's for you." Yes, children. If only for one brief moment, I, too, was John Travolta in the opening sequence of Saturday Night Fever. A raunchy good flick. I also think you should view the R-rated one.
