Recently officially renamed the "William H. Gray III 30th Street Station" (but no one calls it that), Philadelphia's main rail station is a neoclassical gem. Located just across the river from Center City in West Philadelphia, it serves Amtrak, SEPTA, and a few NJ Transit trains. The modernist glass Cira Center office complex next door is a stylistic contrast.
@mattblaze looking forward to a third building that contrasts with these two.
the guy with the extremely weird uncle vibes who keeps bragging about the fraud he’s doing while wearing a leather jacket and signing boobs is also a sex creep who might be having an affair with a state spy whose previous employer was under suspicion of illegally exporting massive amounts of the guy’s product to the state she spies for?
it’s always the guys you least etc etc

The ones here on the fediverse support Trump and Putin, the ones in Beijing provided the guns and funding for the October music festival attack which began the war on Gaza. Image attached:

it's here to stay. the genie can't go back into the bottle. the money isn't a problem, the software is too useful. it's getting cheaper to serve. the tech will improve. the tech will last forever. you just hate x-rays.
@davidgerard
Idk… x-rays may be not a good example. Asbestos or Methyl-4-lead maybe?
Did you review places via Google Maps in the past? @mangroveReviews now offers a way to import your past reviews, which means they will also appear in CoMaps in future maps!
@CoMaps @mangroveReviews
.......and by the way the only reason I use CoMaps is for data privacy. Otherwise why not just use google maps
Be not afraid

How private do you consider your votes in the Threadiverse?
From the technical side anyone can spin up their own Lemmy instance and view all votes, but I'm curious at what the community's perspective on how "private" that is. I think Mbin already shows upvoters? Piefed allows anonymous voting. I also know there are sites which show all voting history, but assuming those are fairly disliked.
My general questions to the community: - Do you expect your votes to be private, or just not shown in the UI? - Would per-voter votes showing up on another aggregator platform bother you, even though your instance already shares them with other servers?
For context I'm the dev doing some two way bridge interop between atproto + Threadiverse, in atproto the votes/likes are generally publicly accessible, you just look at the users repo through something like pdsls.dev, they're readable and archivable by anyone. In my opinion this isn't that big of a problem since it's fairly hard to look at and discern (Ex all my votes: https://pdsls.dev/at://did:plc:lmdkqemqrqnfiix72pyjhfey/social.coves.feed.vote). Ultimately trying to figure out if there's already a mutual understanding that they are public and we can just mirror them or whether they should stay hidden as an aggregate.
Fully public
Donald Trump posted an AI-generated cartoon in the style of Family Guy where Dana White is the press secretary and UFC fighters beat up journalists for asking questions they don’t like.
There’s even a scene where a UFC fighter yells “Michelle Obama is a man.”
The president of the United States.
i adopted a lil robo !!
Every year, Delhi chokes. Every year, despite the already hazardous air during stubble-burning season, Delhites make matters worse by bursting firecrackers. There's nothing happy about deteriorating health conditions and their long-term consequences. High AQI is clearly contributing to a collective low IQ among governing politicians and firecracker-burning Delhites alike.
to be honest this is kind of a shitpost, but kind of not: pkgconf is so utterly load-bearing that i should probably start thinking about transferring it to a foundation
@ariadne the package native computing foundation
