Tankies aren’t republicans. And I am pretty sure they’re not pro-genocide. Or pro-israel, for that matter.

Recently officially renamed the "William H. Gray III 30th Street Station" (but no one calls it that), Philadelphia's main rail station is a neoclassical gem. Located just across the river from Center City in West Philadelphia, it serves Amtrak, SEPTA, and a few NJ Transit trains. The modernist glass Cira Center office complex next door is a stylistic contrast.

PieFed only adds those checkboxes (multiple times now) after huge complaints from users.
The dev is an authoritarian liberal who thinks the best way to run the Fediverse is their way and everyone must accept that.

Fortunately, piefed’s controversial feature was a checkbox in the settings that an admin can easily toggle on/off, unlike Tesseract that had a hidden hardcoded list. And as you are probably aware, our .zip admin gives us users the autonomy to block stuff ourselves, so that wasn’t really that big of an issue.

@mjdxp Notch always rode a little close to open-source, tolerance of open systems, & then locked them down with user logins & obfuscated binaries. A lot of early MineCon was about server management, that's where their growth was. Probably the most Mojang-like thing would've been if you had to register your self-hosted server with them. Microsoft, sure, should lock everything in their servers & make you pay for skins.
But also, just dump MC. Luanti's better.
The Coyle Theatre in Charleroi, PA sat in darkness for twenty years between its closure in 1999 and its demolition in 2009. See the rest at https://www.abandonedamerica.us/coyle-theater
@AbandonedAmerica Shame it's just been a vacant lot for the past 7 years. That would have been amazing to have it restored but I guess the vacant lot is more fitting to be across from a McDonalds.
when i mentioned being a rabbit therian to my mom a while back she was just like "haha i bet you're a lop-ear"

How private do you consider your votes in the Threadiverse?
From the technical side anyone can spin up their own Lemmy instance and view all votes, but I'm curious at what the community's perspective on how "private" that is. I think Mbin already shows upvoters? Piefed allows anonymous voting. I also know there are sites which show all voting history, but assuming those are fairly disliked.
My general questions to the community: - Do you expect your votes to be private, or just not shown in the UI? - Would per-voter votes showing up on another aggregator platform bother you, even though your instance already shares them with other servers?
For context I'm the dev doing some two way bridge interop between atproto + Threadiverse, in atproto the votes/likes are generally publicly accessible, you just look at the users repo through something like pdsls.dev, they're readable and archivable by anyone. In my opinion this isn't that big of a problem since it's fairly hard to look at and discern (Ex all my votes: https://pdsls.dev/at://did:plc:lmdkqemqrqnfiix72pyjhfey/social.coves.feed.vote). Ultimately trying to figure out if there's already a mutual understanding that they are public and we can just mirror them or whether they should stay hidden as an aggregate.

@jwildeboer whow holy shit. Wonder if my 12 year old xeons will run this?
@Mudb0y I guess you are out of luck, according to the "Supported Chips & Processor-Specific Optimizations" part of the README.
software supply chain security is important, but have we considered software supply chain human rights
