I'm admittedly still a fan of Emma Goldman, and used to live a half a block from the apartment she lived in in Toronto, but she was part of that ilk too at least for a time. It comes with the territory, and I can't blame people for the stereotype because it's been largely self-inflicted.

@toiletpaper anarchism is the only moral system when I investigate it. not like, how it's done by any existing group. nor can it survive in nature, but conceptually the closest I can think of.

For a while, I was under the impression that all spiciness, or burning sensation in food flavoring, would come from capsaicin, the compound that causes it in chili peppers. Then I realized that Sichuan peppers are a quite different kind of heat. Wasabi (horseradish) is different yet again.

Anyway, HHPAY is one of those shows which have what I call "Balan Syndrome" - where it is blessed with amazing character design art for its lead cast, but absolutely nothing else going for it. Every time I have tried to revisit the show has been disappointing, but I keep remembering the cool designs of the protagonists and wanting to give it another shot

Which is a big part of why I am suspicious of her. ACT wants to tear up Te Tiriti and nix any regulations that hinder rich people from stomping on any bugs/other people who might inconvenience them. How is that not "extremist"? NZF wants us to leave the WHO, ban trans people and tell all the migrants to go back home where they lie like flatfish. How is that not "extremist"?
What part of the Green Party's agenda is so much worse that it gets the epithet but ACT and NZF are ok?
What principles are Q displaying by saying that people like Peters, Laws and Jones have morally repugnant views to 90% of the population (including, one would have thought, a woman, a person of Asian descent, or even perhaps a woman of Asian descent) but hey totally fine with getting around a table and working with these guys every day for the next three years even though you're never sure whether they're judging you for your dress being too long or too short or too black or not black enough or fantasising about what you're like post sex or wishing you were back in China where you (didn't) come from?

Those targets are legally binding, and net zero by 2050 isn’t consistent with the science. In the 70's they warned our “children’s children” would suffer. Holy shit, i did it, lol. It looks terrible, but it works.
For people who haven't been keeping up with this project, I've been doing ceramics for a couple years now, and recently people kept tagging me in posts about a European feminist hacker collective that was making circuit boards out of court they dug out of the ground and fired in a campfire.
After having an epiphany about some experimental copper ceramics glazes i made last year, i thought i would see if i could solder to them, and i found that i could.
Sooo ... I made a stamp and stamped out some really basic boards for an astable multivibrator (two blinky lights) circuit. I filled the recessed traces with copper powder and had them fired in our pottery kiln.
Now i have ceramic circuit boards.

Successful night tonight, my chums. Very lovely to have unlocked a new level in life of going out with non-drinking male friends. Difficult to convey the alcohol culture in the UK, but you're basically indoctrinated into going out with your mates and getting annihilated on alcohol and that's essentially your whole social and personal relationships. Unsurprisingly this has a knock on effect to many other areas of your lives. Culturally it's not terribly healthy. So I'm thrilled to have discovered going out on a Saturday night to a shisha joint and just banging a load of sparkling water, tea, a bit of food and having a shisha. Also not terrifically good for you, but a far cry from drinking 8 pints and getting in fights. Had a laugh, talked about our feelings and listened to one another and came away from it validated and positive and crucially will wake up tomorrow (today) feelin' fine. Although I went slightly overboard on the sweet potato fries and hummus. Like a wildman. Men! You too can do this and still be a total double-dog alpha male. Grrr. Had so much hummus mate. You should have seen my BiL. Went mental on the shisha and had 4 cokes. We cannot be stopped. Also - we talked about our hopes and worries in a way that was supportive and nurturing. Oi oiiiiii!
Alcohol is necessary for alcoholism. Alcoholism harms individuals, families and communities. If you promote (and profit from) alcohol you are party to the ruin of many lives.
@jbevain if you read the blog post about all the work that went into it, it's obviously not a half-assed move, there was a lot of effort in it... but it may have been *greenlit* just for those reasons you mention... although I'm not aware of any "release X every N years to keep the rights" sort of deal for these IPs.
