@ai6yr A M6.2 hit my first day working in Tokyo. I was concerned but the Japanese engineers merely looked up briefly and went back to work.

Back to where we started.
Oh, I almost missed observing Four Seasons Total Landscaping day.
@mattblaze
I wonder what students will think of this era when they see Four Seasons Total Landscaping mentioned in histories written about this era? Will the drips live on?
We've been gradually moving our domains to another registrar since this:
"In September 2025, CVC Capital Partners acquired a majority stake in Namecheap for an undisclosed amount, valuing the company at $1.5 billion."
A recurring speech I’ve been giving to my team at work is that technical skill is no longer enough. Being able to write code, create PRDs or design in Figma is simply not enough.
What we most need now from people is good judgement. AI agents can do the technical things but they lack judgment.
@carnage4life When trying to make products designed to reflect walking a mile in the customer’s shoes, it’s important to remember that AIs have no feet.

I've long been a John Martyn fan and have several of his albums. His guitar playing broke new ground.
https://www.guitarworld.com/artists/guitarists/why-john-martyn-was-an-underrated-guitar-genius
Much in the same way that his tunings were selected for fullness and warmth, to make up for the lack of other instrumentation, Martyn’s slap-and-pop technique adds rhythm and bite. In a sense, his right thumb was his drummer.'
He's my guitar hero. I first saw him at Sweetwaters festival in 1980. It was just on sunset and we were in the front row. Martyn came onto the stage smoking a joint which he threw into the audience. The crowd responded by throwing joints onto the stage... loads of them. Welcome to New Zealand.
Between every number he'd pick up a joint, light it, take a couple of puffs then throw it into the audience. We caught one of them so I can modestly say I shared a joint with John Martyn.
Also caught him at Mainstreet in Auckland and twice in the UK. He was better without a backing band. Just John and his echo box and his music was sublime.
@mattblaze deadline being November 10, if I recall correctly?
@jadp In MS, yes (which is the deadline there for counties to certify their tallies).
They are cracking down at work and everyone needs to wear their ID badge. The reasons are sensible enough, there have been bomb threats at schools around NYC so all of the schools are trying to be more secure.
But, I think like most people I *detest* lanyards.
I've settled on a belt clip but thought I'd ask others who suffer under the ID badge wear it. Do you have a method you like?
@futurebird I used to keep my work ID inside my wallet instead of on a lanyard or clipped to my tie. Then I got an RFID wallet and had to change to inside a jacket pocket.

Oh wow. I think he was also the voice of the Guardian of Forever in "The City on the Edge of Forever" & the lava dude in "The Savage Curtain."

Sandra has just spotted The Mouse in the kitchen.
I thought that it had moved on.
Traps (humane) are deployed.
Let's see if I am successful with my mouse catching tonight...
@neil where there’s one there’s usually many. They can also find their way back a surprising distance so worth relocating them further than you think.
