Has AI been used to create this?

Do you really need to ask? 😅

Hi, I got a couple questions that aren’t answered on your transparency page yet.

• Has AI been used to create this?
• Two AI communities are on top of your communities list. Your terms talk about preventing AI scraping, yet your platform seems to welcome “AI founders”. How does this go together?
• Where is the source code?
• Your terms talk about monetization through Normals Plus. Can you elaborate on this?

@mastodonmigration Change.org has a petition to replace Jeffries, one of several petitions against him and Schumer that have emerged in the last couple days.

If your “anti-abuse” security requires your software to be closed source, then your software is not secure. Well built software can be open source, and still secure.

You imply that your code could not prevent abuse if it was known, so, no offense, but that code must be pretty bad!

I like the fediverse because it distributes power. I, as a user, have the power to choose my instance, choose my moderation, choose the structure that my social interactions are built upon (threads based, microblogs, etc) and if I dont like something, I have the power to change it. Thats why open source is such a perfect fit to that model. Closed source federation then, sounds to me like you didnt get it.

@itsfoss thx Abhishek, rly love this short form weekly digest

@cwebber do you think the Chozo are like "THE HATCHLING" at Samus

@steamdeckhq

Torchlight and now these.

There's never been a better time to be considered this genre on the Deck eh?

What's up my Fedi people?

Now that the circus has left town (for now), what are you going to focus on to get angry at next? Just asking so that I can set the appropriate filters for them NOW.

Have a great day! 😄

@sindarina TIL that Zyxel still exists. They made one of the first modems I ever had.

Hi Godot folks, Danny here from the Diablo 3D team. We’ve rebuilt Tristram and the first Cathedral level of the original Diablo as a first-person game in Godot 4, and the free demo is out.

A few Godot notes:

• The original level generator is ported to GDScript and outputs a 2D tile grid; a builder turns it into 3D walls, arches and vaulted ceilings at 1 tile = 2 m, so every seed is a new walkable dungeon.
• All game rules live in JSON tables generated from the original data by a Python pipeline; GDScript only implements the formulas.
• The UI is laid out in the original 640x480 coordinates and scaled by one factor, which made ultrawide and 4K support almost free.
• Strict typing (Variant-inference warnings treated as errors) caught a lot of bugs early.

What’s in the demo:

• Tristram rebuilt in 3D tile for tile from the original town map, with all the townsfolk and their original lines and voices
• Cathedral level 1, laid out by a port of the original level generator (a new layout every descent)
• The original combat, monster and item rules (to-hit, crits, block, durability, affixes)
• Warrior, Rogue and Sorcerer: sword and shield, hold-to-draw bow, Firebolt, Charged Bolt, Inferno
• The 1996 interface layout (plus an optional Modern skin), ultrawide up to 5120x1440

It’s free for Windows (1.83 GB, Vulkan GPU with 6 GB+ VRAM). Download and screenshots: diablo3d.com

Happy to answer questions about any of it. Feedback on performance is especially welcome.

@ai6yr I was watching this morning on the local ATL news (I live one county south of this) as a building’s propane tank floating the the floodwaters between two buildings erupted in flames and the firefighters were trying to figure out if they could use a boat to haul the hoses over to where they might be able to put it out and boy, McCaysville didn’t need this.

@djsundog Oooh, crap

Great news for #gamedev. The entire Quixel Megascans library of 23,000+ AAA game assets is free... again. This time forever I think. Useful all engines/DCC, not just #UnrealEngine!

They also updated the license to allow AI training on Megascans.

@wjmaggos No. The vote will be in a month or more, and the opposition to Schumer and Jeffries is only just beginning to build. He will not be Speaker.

@artlung From your fingertips to God’s inbox, friend.

** producer: "hey guys, can you stand in the water with your raft in front of the American flag? That would be a fabulous news shot!"

@sheislaurence The 2026 one, I don't have any others 😅
