The gym I go to only lends you a towel if you're a platinum member. They used to just give me one anyway when I forgot mine but now they insist on charging £2 for it. So now I steal them afterwards.

Hi from normals.me. If you can read this, the federation works
This post is written on https://normals.me and delivered to !fediverse@lemmy.world over #ActivityPub, so if you are reading it the basic plumbing works. Now let me explain what is this.
Normals is a forum with communities, threads, and questions with an accepted answer. It is a single instance, not software you can host, and the core is closed for anti-abuse reasons. The federation module will be published separately with implementation notes (FEP-67ff).
What federates today Every community is a Group actor following the Lemmy model (FEP-1b12). Follow @selfhosted@normals.me or any other community from Lemmy, PieFed, Mbin or Mastodon.
Posts and comments go both ways. Replies from your instance appear in the thread on Normals, replies from Normals go back to the origin.
Remote content is labelled with its origin, links back to it, and is never copied. Media loads from the source.
Signed fetches, so it works with instances that require authorized fetch. NodeInfo 2.1 is up.
Policies, in case they matter to you, it has no ads, and no paid reach, and of course no AI training on posts. AI crawlers blocked by default, public mod log with reasons, and no automated removals. Numbers at https://normals.me/transparency so please take a look.
If something from your instance shows up wrong here, or something from here shows up wrong on yours, reply with the URL and I'll fix it. Andy Piper mentioned NodeBB uses the same group model, if anyone runs a NodeBB instance I'd like to test against it, if possible.
I hope we all have fun. Cheers!
some dudes are having a tantrum that the predator composer isn’t going to compose on the new game, and ofc calling me a liar… so i’ll just reiterate again: i told the truth

For the first time in history, it will be possible for a Democratic Senator from Kansas to see a programmable automatic digital computer.

Telling boys they have the original sin of being male and it makes them naturally bad and violent and they need to suppress themselves is not in fact a feminist approach to subverting patriarchy. FFS people.
I mean this in the kindest possible way but your trauma is not radical. Basing your praxis on your trauma is not building a better world. Radical spaces should acknowledge trauma and seek to tend to it, but using it as a basis for building the world we want is a doomed endeavour.
But if I stop making things, the ideas stop flowing. The only way to get the ideas to come back is to start making again.
It's not just okay to make art when you don't know what you are doing & don't have any clear ideas. It is essential.
That's my personal perspective anyway. Creativity flows when you are being creative.

New post: How can a volunteer project keep going when your experienced volunteers are exhausted, trust is short in supply & you’re facing tremendous pressure in a situation ripe for catastrophe?

@Bit_form thankyou for believing in me
it's not like there is some secret society that wants to maintain PHP as the dominant fediverse language for all eternity or something.
that would be cray

@Vivaldi
Since you bent over for Google and removed V2 addon support, disabling especially uBlock Origin, I returned to Firefox on Linux and Edge on Windows, which still has V2 and uBlock Origin working.
@esreicht we haven't removed support for mv2 extensions. We just warned about the fact that we're not going to be able to maintain them forever, but they're still working in 8.3.
GF and I talked about sex fantasies. I said I wanted to fool around w/sisters and asked her to invite her sister over. She said yes as long as we do it w/my brother first. Pretty sure she was making a point about how hideous my idea was, but I can barely look at my brother now.
@fesshole too many people seems to think encouraging incest is ok as long as they themselves aren't related to anybody else
