Yes, and no. I do see the massively positive trend, but I can’t escape the racism evident there. Those people aren’t going to go away quietly, one election isn’t enough to change this country. It’s going to take a lot of work.

Then I look at my counties returns and see I am still a blue dot in a sea of red but the totals of contested races are closer.

SF results are looking pretty bad though. the absolute worst thing (public transit eviscerated) probably isn't happening, but most of the other bad outcomes seems to be winning. tech's takeover and occupation of this city has been years in the making. they're hated everywhere else and the bubble has never been closer to bursting but for the moment at least they can ride their waymos down market st and look at all the incomprehensible AI billboards and feel like the center of the universe.
