@larrythecow I heard 6 abstained?
@larrythecow Just looked it up. The map had (not surprisingly) border disputes. Ukraine abstained (among 5 others)
Look there are prolly nuances to the Undue Influence argument where sure, yeah, at some point you do have to say "there is some individual resppnsibility for maintaining an information diet and body of knowledge/beliefs that map to and align with reality", and like if someone hurts themself (or others) acting on bad information there is a question of what they could have done to get better information,
but also like I think the first instinct should be-- and if there are huge ad campaigns and repeated instructions and messaging put out trying to seed false information/bad sources/unhelpful instructions, all the more so we should be--
trying on first looking at the person as someone acting in good faith under bad information, and looking for who might have been pushing that bad information/source/instructions, and looking for the duped party's perspective (especially if they're also the victim) to look for what their experience of recieving that info might have been.
This is about AI.
@ai6yr Huh, my morning eyes read that as "Using AI to Plan bankruptcy Is Getting People Into Big Trouble" - but I guess they both work.

Once upon a time, I was part of a wilderness search and rescue where two people left the rest of their group to use their map and the trail to get to the next camp, and they tried to use their new GPS (this was before smartphones) to cut through the wilderness because they thought it would be faster. It was not. They weren't found until the next morning.
This reminded me of that.
@jalefkowit
Didn't the US make it illegal to give food to people on the streets, and / or in line to vote?
@xinit In some jurisdictions yes, I think implicit in my suggestion is the idea that such local laws should be repealed
Happy to announce the release of libcamera 0.8.0 "Prague".

@joe "shortcut" never works out in the wilderness, lol.
Just showing up to vote is a protest.
A multi-purpose protest.
Wie kann man noch Content produzieren, ohne dass Big-Tech das als Trainingsdaten klaut?
Hilft LLM-Poisioning?

Any Portland, OR people have a health insurance broker they'd recommend?
If you’re American, you can skip checking social media tomorrow. It’s just gonna be people who already voted yelling at each other to go vote
@jalefkowit I already voted. Everyone I know already voted.
I'll be posting a flower photo as I every day, a photo of my cat for Toe Beans Tuesday, something cool about authors who don't use AI, etc.
All the while anxiously awaiting election results.
