Oh my Gosh. Okay, this is me!
One creator I enjoy and follow on the Fediverse is Gardiner Bryant as his content is really enjoyable.
First off, thank you so much! Really appreciate you enjoying the articles we put out 😊 One think I might emphasize here though is that so far as the site goes, Gardiner and I are partners! This is one of my articles though (so I’m to blame for this appearing so often in your feed). In fact I’m 99.99% sure Gardiner doesn’t actually share his articles on Lemmy at all.
I’m sorry it appears like this. It used to annoy me back when I was regularly on Reddit, when a post was cross-posted to a different community I’d have to follow that link, read their description of the post, then follow the link then go back a few steps to start/join the discussion in that community. Since joining Lemmy and sharing here (it has been a long time!) I just went against that grain and posted in the communities it was relevant to, to give each community a space to chat about it.
I had no idea your app was showing it this way, or that how I was doing this was annoying anyone. I’ll just go back to the age old cross-post method instead, going forward. Interesting that your app shows it this way, the one I use seems to do that for me.
Sorry to annoy you! It won’t happen going forward :)

Note that the post doesn’t necessarily go against your (re)posting style, but rather how it is represented in the apps. As others have noted, there are options that combine reposts, with Voyager (which is shown in OP’s screenshot) having an open issue ticket. Though you using the native repost function probably helps.
Thank you for your work, btw ❤️
@ai6yr Have we seen this story before? https://wildfiretoday.com/another-couple-and-a-baby-this-time-get-lost-and-snow-bound-using-gps/
@notasnek Yep... same problem, different technology.

Goodreads removed RSS and some people are asking for alternatives on Reddit; maybe worth pointing to BookWyrm and NeoDB?
Goodreads removed RSS and some people are asking for... #fediverse #goodreads #bookwyrm #neodb #rssfeeds
Both fediverse softwares that support user reviews for books, both have RSS support natively (no Piefed/Misskey bridge needed), and some comments also seem discontent with Amazon's mismanagement overall.
I hate, hate, HATE that "the election was rigged" has become the go-to explanation (across the US political spectrum) for any election that doesn't go your way.
Remember: despite real progress, there are still vulnerabilities in parts of our election infrastructure. But there is NO EVIDENCE that any US election outcome has ever been successfully altered by technical means.
It's not IMPOSSIBLE, but it's not something that we've actually seen happen (so far). Perspective, please.
@mattblaze There's also this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Na%C3%AFve_realism_(psychology)
@Wyatt_H_Knott @larand @ai6yr @Zelda Woah there. It is not Bayliner's fault. They built it down to a price to look good in a marina. You are not supposed to leave the dock!

New maps with November 1 data are out!
New maps with OpenStreetMap data from November 1 are now out. Press “Check for Updates” to see them in-app!
Also: Did you know that the State of the Map Spain conference will be held upcoming weekend in Madrid? You might be able to catch some CoMaps folks!

It's better on the clothes to hang them to dry & then just air fluff or low heat with a dryer sheet a short while. Heat drying basically ruins your clothes. At our house every bedroom has a set of eye hooks on opposite walls where a laundry line with s-hooks on the ends can be put up on that person's laundry day. We also have lines in the basement for large things like sheets / blankets. (And outdoor lines for summer.)
Your clothes will last much longer.

Has anyone here used or maintained Flohmarkt?
What was you experience like? Did you use the built-in messaging? Did you feel that it respected your data privacy enough?
If you maintained one, did you have any major issues or concerns?
I’d love to have an alternative to fb marketplace but nothing seems to be as user-friendly to get people using it. I would love to eventually start a server if it is doable for a semi-capable person.
got a song for uu
@moira I think we might get lucky with the rain mostly being overnight and maybe (probably) for the Sunday morning game. Fortunately, both games are on turf, so no mud to contend with. It'll be a long drive home to SE WA with wet cleats. The contingency plan is to tie them to the roof rack in a grocery bag.
@HayiWena I hope so and good luck!
@Wyatt_H_Knott @ai6yr @Zelda Not a Bayliner story, but we had a family friend who owned a Columbia 41, hull #1. Incredibly capable and safe center-cockpit boat, but the engine had issues. One time it cut out just before we came back into Ventura Harbor. John, the owner, ex-Royal Australian Navy, said, “it’s a sailboat, isn’t it?” and ran up the mainsail. And so it was we navigated the harbor entrance, and docked, under full sail. I think half of the yacht club bought him drinks that day.
@larand @Wyatt_H_Knott @Zelda Wow!
Why hasn't anyone domesticated cheetahs yet? They seem like they'd be basically just a cat version of a greyhound. Sprint really fast for a little while, then just sleep the rest of the day.
@JessTheUnstill I know this was a rhetorical question because cheetahs are awesome, but I got excited because I actually knew the answer. Sadly someone beat me to it. My brain had been misguidedly holding this nugget of information in preparation for this rare moment and I missed it!
But the answer is, they can be tamed, but captivity or generally too close proximity with humans has proven to affect their breeding ability and their limited genetic diversity makes matters worse.
@larand @ai6yr @Zelda Similarly, took my mom and bro out in a rented dinghy on Lake Champlain one day. "Let's go upwind," sez I, and before long we're out of range of the horn the guy on the dock was trying to use to call us back. Had a leisurely downwind jog to get back, then turned it neatly into the slip, and dropped the main to coast right up to the dock. The guy was mad, but my mom said "oh he was in the Navy" and I had to laugh when the guy replied "they didn't teach him that in the Navy."

Is there a way to not see duplicate of the same topic across different communities?
Hi everyone!
I’m really enjoying the Fediverse through Lemmy and Peertube.
One creator I enjoy and follow on the Fediverse is Gardiner Bryant as his content is really enjoyable.
Sadly he ´s the target of my post as he shares his content on many different communities that I follow.
Today I had 5 times the same topic on RetroDeck (great project too) on my feed on Lemmy (Voyager).
It is the same on PieFed (Interstellar).
This is really annoying and I haven’t found a way to not show these duplicates. Do you know about one or is it worked on?
Also when crossposting, it would be great if everything appeared under on post. Is it feasible?
Sorry if it’s easy and I just missed it. In a way I hope it is because it would mean that the Fediverse is festure rich😇
