@mro Nice! Good writeup.
Of all the tiling wm's I tried, i3 was not one of them. It looks quite good.
I've explored fvwm, Openbox, AwesomeWM, wmii, but over a decade back discovered DWM, found happiness and set up camp.
QWERTZ yep, as bought it in DE, worked with this layout for years.
@JulianOliver crikey - Robert Nation's FVWM was the window manager I used when I first switched to Linux in '94. Impressive work that you found it, much less tried it! @mro

@georgetakei When shall we three meet again?
In thunder, lightning, or in rain?
When the hurly-burly's done,
When the battle's lost and won.
That will be ere the set of sun.
Where the place?
Upon the heath.
@mcc @viq @amorphophalex as far as I know, snaps are disabled in Linux mint: https://linuxmint-user-guide.readthedocs.io/en/latest/snap.html
@LeoRJorge @viq @amorphophalex OK, thanks. (Alex, that's a good thing, the biggest user-facing Ubuntu-Debian difference is Snaps vs Flatpak and it turns out both Linux Mint Regular and Linux Mint Debian make the right decision there.)
@thisismissem wait what? Do you have more info on the second?
@piegames basically that could always apparently prescribe it, but there were no pharmacies willing to fill those prescriptions, so the only way you could get it was via a foreign import, which meant endocrinologists were not inclined to prescribe it. A bit of a chicken and egg problem with supply & demand
@ai6yr @intrepidhero
just put up a warning sign that says: "Warning: Guests must be clothed in order to sit on patio cushions" and everything will be ok.
@llewelly @intrepidhero The odds of having naked guests sitting on my patio cushions is less than zero, I do believe. 🤔
@stefano for obvious reasons 3d printing pizza and tiramisu doesn't work... 🤣
@nineofseven that’s sad
@ai6yr @intrepidhero ah, so you have “overstayed their welcome” guest cushions.
There will, however, be a lot of pressure on the Roberts Court judges to get involved.
For us rank-and-file voters, there continues to be one important thing we can do to limit the damage the Roberts Court, or any other court, can inflict. We can vote in massive numbers. If Democratic candidates win their races by wide and unquestionable margins, the scope for judicial action is drastically reduced. 10/10
@dansup I'm also assuming that it'll have the same ai policy as pixelfed and loops
@sackofbones Yes, of course.
No state has the "right to exist," for the simple reason that rights adhere to individuals, not states. A state has *legitimacy* to the extent it respects individual rights; to the extent it ceases doing so, it loses legitimacy.
This is very basic Liberalism 101.
@fluffy the thing is like... it didn't use to? i find that to be a deliberate tactic by LLM companies to try and muddle the waters.
@Yuvalne The term "AI" predates LLMs by decades, and for example A* search and other pathfinding algorithms were called AI in the 60s and 70s.

I’m honestly a little befuddled that an incorporated entity could put “our core product may end humanity” in its IPO prospectus, and we didn’t just immediately march its entire executive team to the nearest bog and ritually strangle them, then disband the company and redistribute its assets, then gather and incinerate all their intellectual property.
I hate, hate, HATE that "the election was rigged" has become the go-to explanation (across the US political spectrum) for any election that doesn't go your way.
Remember: despite real progress, there are still vulnerabilities in parts of our election infrastructure. But there is NO EVIDENCE that any US election outcome has ever been successfully altered by technical means.
It's not IMPOSSIBLE, but it's not something that we've actually seen happen (so far). Perspective, please.
@mattblaze
Vote fraud and election interference are two different things that could both be labeled "election rigging".
Vote fraud is a very minor issue with minimal impact (this sounds like what you're talking about).
Election interference happens on massive and small scales, both in the past and now. The Cambridge Analytica scandal was very real, very impactful, and very illegal. Making voting less convenient by closing polling stations (happening in my city right now), intimidating legal voters, having the USPS interfere with mail in ballots, etc, is all a very real and dangerous problem.
