Toronto folk, the TTC is partnering with TMU to conduct a study about subway musicians. Among other things they want to hear from riders about how the presence of buskers affect feelings of comfort and safety. Do you love encountering musicians in the subway as much as I do? @amadeus Very good points! I'm also indecisive about generative AI. If you use it as assistant to learn and grow, it can be pretty powerful. If you're using it to generate music, I don't see the point other than profit-maxing, because all the joy I have when making music comes from putting all my creativity and intuition directly into it. Why should I leave this part to a machine?
At the same time I see the bad impact on our environment and society. I'm dreaming of a world with open source AI models, owned by us not big tech, trained on fairly sourced data, running on decentralized hardware powered by solar energy.

@elsemusic It’s an amazingly clever system. I had a long chat with a luthier about it some time ago, and we both agreed that for my playing style it would get in the way more than anything. I (like many) still wanted tuning stability, and went for a carbon fibre guitar instead. I’ve probably sent a handful of people to EverTune so far though.
