It was touch-and-go there for a while, but it looks like we somehow made it through another Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
@mattblaze Quite the show they put on this year! Can't* imagine what they'll do to top it next year!

@rmhogervorst When you say "version" are you talking a full release or regular package updates? I'm having similar-sounding problems with my Framework 13 that I'm struggling to pin down
@marxjohnson No a full release. I was on 26.4.1 and that one had issues, kernel 7.0.x.
I forced to 26.10, kernel 7.3.x I think. That works really well.
Chris Murphy, a Democratic Senator and potential 2028 White House candidate, is awake and alert at Johns Hopkins University hospital after suffering a stroke. Read more from @politico:
Looks like they have closed off a road in an area of interest. Wonder if that's normal or as a result of this....
Yet another extreme rainfall event is currently unfolding across Arizona and the Four Corners portion of AZ, NM, UT, and CO--and very serious major to locally catastrophic/record-breaking flooding is unfolding. Some areas will see *even worse* flooding than last week by tomorrow.

One of my closest friends has written a full-cast horror audio drama inspired by Robert W. Chambers’ cult weird fiction collection, The King in Yellow.
The first episode has been released and it's immaculately done. Original music, a brilliant cast and script, you can listen to it on YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts.

Why would you assume that “creators” only means people on video platforms 🤷

Like others have already said, “creators” isn’t just video creators. I support people and organisations from Mastodon as well for example in addition to developers building the platforms/clients.
Since you’re on a Lemmy server, you could consider supporting that specific server or Lemmy development in general.
If you have a daunting big task, take it and break it down into lots of little tasks. Then, try to do one of the small things!
@ailurocrat @tranquil_cassowary @ne_ Traditional static analyzers can't find most of the same vulnerabilities and software engineers also don't use them in practice due to false positives. AI models aren't only finding a specific list of bugs classes occurring in specific ways but rather quite arbitrary things in a probabilistic way. It can find different things with each run.
Traditional static analyzers are in fact drastically more usable and useful with an AI model to filter the results.
@ailurocrat @tranquil_cassowary @ne_ These AI models are being used in a harness where they use other tools. They use grep, semgrep, static analyzers, compilers and other tools. They'll write tests to confirm the bugs exist and to confirm a possible patch resolves it. They can triage the results and organize it by severity. With the models from the past few months, it's nearly all genuine bugs with decent severity evaluations. It gives an engineer what they need to evaluate and fix the bugs.

Remember. There is still room for change and growth. You haven't reached your fearsome and terrifying final form just yet.
Finally you can buy a phone that at least tries to be ethical – for both workers and planet – in the USA!
The @Fairphone Gen. 6+ is the first one to be sold in the US, so Wirecutters has reviewed it. They seem to like it: https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/fairphone-6-plus-review/
And you can install a degoogled Android on it!

Ah... I see they don't sell the /e/OS version directly to US customers. 🤔
