For crying out loud… creep glasses with cameras in them have to be banned, not enabled like this.

@mmoore @thephpf I’m not arguing that they shouldn’t donate more, but the correct response to “if you use PHP and receive value from it, you should support the foundation” isn’t “these other folks should be supporting it.” 🙂

@shonin Wow, that looks to be essentially sea level!!!

Rising water is forcing this French town off #Newfoundland to move. Not everyone is ready to leave

For Developers

There's no requirement to support pluralized strings in your templates — they are opt-in, but they are fairly easy to support.

Where you would normally write a translation string like so:

{
...
"foo": "%1 bar(s)"
...
}

You will instead put in an "ICU Plural" string that looks like this:

{
...
"foo": "{count, plural, one {{count} bar} other {{count} bars}}"
...
}

Comma separated:

• count is the variable substitution you'll use in the latter half of the string
• plural is hardcoded, it's always plural
• Then the forms:
  • one denotes the singular form in the proceeding braces
  • other denotes the plural form (in English) in the next set of braces

For translators

This means that any converted strings have lost their existing translations. You will need to manually go in and translate them again (plus their plural variants), or rescue the existing translation from the history.

However, note that for plural strings, there is a new placeholder {count} to be used in addition to the %1, %2, etc. that we already use. We use {count} for simplicity, but it could be named anything.

Chance's Lucky Escape 2 is out now, part of @playdate 's Season 3! Folks who've played The Crimson Diamond might see a certain resemblance to this scene in Chance 2. 😆 Check out the game here, and get ALL of Season 3! The games are amazing!! 🎉 https://play.date/games/chances-lucky-escape-2/

@jk I won't really be worried about this until the computers start bribing game journalists for good reviews.

@jimkennedy @cyclotopie As per other toots, #fridaygeotrivia can be a very cruel game indeed

Six years ago I got given the unpaid task of office cleaning & supplies orderer. Each Friday lunch I order cleaning & office supplies for delivery on Monday. I've not once brought my own cleaning supplies & my daughter has had the best stationary offered for school & college
