@permacomputer what the heck is that X)
One project I've started tackling (by exploring if I can port some text-rendering code that's up to my standards) is the "merephone". This is a featurephone designed to offer only the features you need on the go, nothing distracting!
Planned features:
* Calling & texting with an addressbook
* Autolock with password
* Clock
* Calendar with notifications
* Calculator
* File viewer (I'm primarily interested in audio)
* Better-than-nothing camera
* QR code scanning
* NFC file/contact-sharing
1/2!
I reason that to make this work well I'd nice text-entry & menu navigation! I'm thinking a joystick-switch & 2 buttons for primary input, a grayscale eink screen for primary output. Though I still have to get around to experimenting with joystick-typing.
This would very power-efficient, & *just* enough to offer those features without getting clunky.
The most open-ended of the features I listed would be that file-viewer...
2/3!!

Followup to the Vincent Price coffee recipe : Since I'd made a whole batch of it, I've been using his "Ice Coffee" as basically a creamer for my coffee.
I like my actual ice coffee with a tiny amount of milk, so I'd be using this, since it was already coffee flavored.
Anyway, Basically a tablespoon of Price's "Ice Coffee" in a tall glass of real Ice Coffee is pretty nice. The clove flavor is diluted down to the "I taste something unusual in this coffee but I can't quite place it." level, which is what Vincent Price promised in the first place.
Conclusion : The original recipe had about 30x too much cloves. Vincent Price must really like cloves.
@apLundell Dare I ask how much clove it did have?
If you put that you use AI in your bio I am blocking you btw
anyway yeah having cleaned off the disgusting overcrusted food plate and turning up my air filter has gotten rid of the stench, or maybe I'm just used to the smell again and it always was here like the dude insists but I don't think that's actually true.
hmm no I'm still getting random whiffs when I go to different parts of my living room. maybe just pockets of stale air though?
@whbboyd now note the highways there *replaced* a system based on trains that were originally used to populate the state, but part of how that worked was most homesteads being isolated for many months at a time.
