In fairness, “armed standoff with police” is a pretty traditional way for Libertarian political campaigns to close
@jalefkowit I’m not sure voters are super receptive to candidates that caused a school lockdown?
But I’m no expert in the field!

Tamara, The Hero of Ramallah
Made a music video praising this woman. YouTube did not like it, but doesn’t matter. It’s in Vimeo while I appeal it, and it’s a joy I can dance to anytime I want. Wouldn’t mind sharing this catharsis with other pro-Palestine people.
She single-handedly took down one of the Internet’s worst pro-IDF propaganda couples. Thank you, Tamara.
Vimeo
pulled out the Cisco C1100 that @futzle gave me ages back to try and see if I can't break secure boot on it and get it running a real Linux
@freya Good luck. Let us know how you go, I have three more of them.
Did you know that today is allegedly Black Cat Day? 🐈⬛
Whisper knows. And she's making the best of every single minute of it.
I love you very much, my creepy little princess. 🖤
@deviantollam Awww what a pretty girl 😻
People who need reading (or non-full time) glasses but who don’t carry a bag, what do you do when you’re out and about? Having recently got an ebook reader I’m constantly finding myself in situations where I could read but I don’t have my glasses. Is a small pair that fits in your pocket the best option? Seems like it might be the only option.
@damonism I hang mine on a button on my shirt.
@cassidy There's FDE encryption already, by default it's tied to the tpm2 state but you can add a pin if you like.

@alatiera oh, TIL, neat! Thanks!

@decibyte @amadeus also, holy shit, I'm 99% sure I met Chris Randall before my show the other night. If so, he acted like kind of a cocky prick to me for no reason I could see.
(I just noticed he lived in Bellows Falls, VT in the blog post, which is just down the road, then went, "wait a minute...could it have been... ")
That said, the AD plugins have always been cool
@alisynthesis well that’s a shame 🙄
@mike I will watch this 2nd period and if nothing changes, I will go back to Carrie.
@evan @simple_sabotage It could be, but I'm imagining filling in those online tip forms with bullshit.
@SrRochardBunson @simple_sabotage right, but if they actually start an investigation, the Bad Guys aren't going to give up because there aren't any purple-hatted shoemakers plotting a riot or whatever. I don't think they have unsolved case files in the Gestapo. They will turn people into the purple-hatted shoemakers and murder or imprison them.
@ajroach42 ordered! I'm so excited for this!
So where's Flávio Bolsonaro gonna go now that he's here? Probably Wisconsin, right? Get himself some of those famous cheese curds
"Flávio! You managed to fuck up your half-assed coup attempt. What are you going to do next?"
[ turns directly to camera ] "I'm going to Disney World!"
@MastodonEngineering Stop doing these in the middle of the night, sigh.
@futzle @MastodonEngineering its always the middle of the night somewhere on this planet. i appreciate someone is making the effort to keep all the balls in the air, no matter what time it is.
It’s been a remarkable week for democracy. Voters in Brazil and Serbia have defeated movements led by would-be authoritarians, following Hungary’s rejection of Viktor Orbán six months ago. These victories show that even when leaders capture the media, tilt the rules in their favor, and enlist powerful allies abroad, people can still fight back. Next Tuesday, Americans have the chance to do the same. https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/democracy-is-on-the-march
So, Dictionary.com's "word of the year" is a less literate way of saying "Too much is always better than not enough".
@johnhattan feels like cheating picking a suffix instead of a whole word. This is not enough!
@danielmunoz Have you tried ProNotes?
@gruber Thank you, will check it out!
@ellenmorrisprewitt We self-host but Anna also uses fastmail.com since she also left google.
@moira TY!
