For only 300 searches, that’s 10 searches a day. I do probably 50 to 100 searches per day.

So, it’s really $10 a month.

I might pay $5 a month for unlimited but I’m not sure about that. Because, you know they’ll raise the price if they get successful enough. And, then it’s just enshittification.

Yeah, and here 5 bucks is more or less the ~110% of the incomes of most here and in a lot of parts of the world. Also, even for those that have not so bad wages, it’s still sort of a 5% to 10% of their incomes.

For me, i.e., it’s much more because I’m unemployed (because of all of the AI crysis, I’m music producer and in my area it hurts so much).

You don’t notice it, but you live in a privilege bubble and speak bullshit from your high horse while most of us are trying to find out how to survive with less than 100 USD a month while the basic food basket is more than 500 USD.

For about a year as a hobby I’ve been writing an app that scratches several itches that I’ve had with the fediverse (multiple accounts at once, supporting both microblog- and threaded-style content, synthetic/hybrid feeds, etc.) and for the past month or so have been using it exclusively on the desktop and about 50% of the time on mobile (Voyager is my main mobile client and source of inspiration here). I’d like to open source the whole thing. But the code is mine, therefore buggy and bad. Normally I’d not worry too much about that, but in the age of LLM attacks I don’t want to contribute more security vulnerabilities to the world. Should I use an LLM security tool to analyze my code and point out security issues so I can patch them before releasing the code? If so that would more or less be the only AI contribution. I’m a practical-minded person and use AI tools at work so it doesn’t bother me, but I know lots of people here have strong (and often helpful) opinions on the matter.

I never agreed to all of these rules. I will accept physics and common sense but I do not believe in this structure. Why must I do what someone else has just made up. I will do the making up from now on. The Utilities companies have to all give me a grand a month. Sorry I don't make the rules (I do make the rules now).
