I was bummed when Apple discontinued the walkie-talkie app, so I made a replacement. I may have gone a little ham building this thing by also going super privacy-foward and creating an iPhone app as well as Android and WearOS apps (coming soon)

Nelisen vuotta ChatGPT:n julkaisun jälkeen on aika tulla ulos tekoälykaapista. Olen pantannut blogitekstin kirjoittamista jo jonkin aikaa, sillä en ole halunnut joutua vastarintaliikkeen hampaisiin. Enää en kuitenkaan aio pelätä.
Kirjoitin blogiini henkilökohtaisen kronikan siitä, miten tekoäly muutti kaiken, mutta ennen kaikkea oman työni verkkopalvelujen kehittäjänä. Kerron tekstissä koko tarinan IRC-boteista agentteihin, käyn läpi aiheen eri osa-alueet, kerron rahasta, sähkönkulutuksesta, AI-slopista, yksityisyydestä ja siitä, miksi en pelkää. Tämä ei ole hypetys- eikä tuomiopäivän julistus, vaan omakohtainen kokemukseni. Artikkelin laidalla kulkeva mittari näyttää kriittisyyden tason ja sen ajatuksena on korostaa sitä, että aihe ei ole mustavalkoinen.
Tekstiä on yli 7000 sanan verran, joten varaa ainakin puoli tuntia lukemiseen.

Menen silti lauantaina datakeskuksia vastustavaan mielenosoitukseen, koska niiden rakentaminen Suomeen (ja mihin tahansa) on ilmeisen korruptiolobattua kähmintää ja täällä ns. 'luvituksen sujuvointia', mistään ympäristövaikutuksista piittaamatta.
Datakeskuksen työllisyysvaikutuksista olisi paljon reilumpaa kertoa, kuinka monta sataatuhatta ihmistä ne tekevät tarpeettomiksi.
Käsittääkseni (jos suinkin olen oikein ymmärtänyt) entistä nopeammat tietokoneohjelmat ovat sinulle eduksi mutta pahoin pelkään, että kun jo nyt kadutaan 80- ja 90-luvulla ahneuksissaan tehtyjä teollisuustuotantojen siirtoja halpatyövoimamaihi n kaikkine seuraamuksineen, digivirityksillä ihmispotentiaalin alasajo alkaa jo nyt näkyä.
