The Rosetta Stone for understanding American politics is realizing that the white ruling class and white people generally don't want to fight each other, especially on behalf of Those People. They will support any injustice necessary to keep themselves in power and will treat the pursuit of justice as a form of radical terrorism to be violently suppressed.
The midterm elections showed that the political landscape has shifted dramatically on Israel and the war in Iran. Now, activists must pressure Congress to end the war and support Palestinian rights. Here is what they should advocate for.

"The midterms were a rejection of incivility" is such white liberal middle class bullshit.
"Thanks to marginalized people for once again saving us from Trump, but don't expect to be treated any differently, and don't ask us to hold Trump and Republicans accountable because that would be 'uncivil.'"
KRCC (Colorado): Couple is accused of stealing millions of gallons of water from Palmer Lake
"...The water was found to have been diverted through a buried pipe to the Toberts’ property. Terry Tolbert, who owns Mission Plumbing & Heating, owns a master plumbing license. That’s according to the company website...."

@ai6yr
$400 a month for water?
@neil oh wow good luck! I've been trying to track an issue with our smart heating where something other than the "smart" part is calling for heating when something happens.
Last year we came back from holiday to find that it'd been on for an entire week and the bathroom radiator had started to leak. I've got a joplin note that's bordering on longer than my dissertation on observations and possible causes/solutions. It drives me nuts.
@mikebell Oh, good luck!
I don’t understand why, for the life of me, I let random people into my life only to just fuck everything up.
To make me loathe everything I do and enjoy.
Yet, because I know how fleeting human connection can be, I refuse to let the, in my view, toxic person go.
It does make wanting to live in the mountains a lot easier sometimes.
I found a typo. It said Trump named some guy named Miller as chief of staff but the correct spelling is Himmler.
@neil If it's like ours then it's the reheat temperature. I've fiddled with ours, with many complaints from my wife about "cold" showers.
@dajb Yes, Sandra wants hot water (which is a reasonable enough request!).
The mastodon.social "upgrade" has made composing posts a really annoying experience. Random things popping up in my face as I compose and move my mouse. On screen keyboard covering up the edit window. It's terrible.
I keep on shifting between apps trying to find one that feels comfortable. I haven't decided yet.
I continue to be annoyed.

Did you watch the news much when you were in your 20’s? Because i didn’t, hell I still don’t. Plus taking 50 credit hours with a little toddler baby raising them alone took every bit of my time.
@accrescent an update 🙌🏻 lets go.
Still not using until the available app list grows but enjoying watching the progress and will hopefully replace some of the other alternatives soon enough.
Looking forward to it 🤙🏻
@j_d Thank you for the support!
It’s weird to think that even the humanoid-style Pokémon are just… wild animals? Like, imagine a Gardevoir hunting prey and eating it like a wolf and then going to sleep in a cave somewhere
@philnelson you're right. They'll come, knock once, and leave without a notice
@MLE_online likely
@evan I think you missed one potentially negative effect on the fediverse. When the USA becomes less "evil", that will make US big tech more accepted again. It won't be like before Trump, but it will become harder again to convince people to use sovereign tech.
@kleisli I agree.
@accrescent
Can you guys please add comaps to the store?
@XYZ_123 We don't add apps to the store ourselves, but once we open up app submissions again (hopefully in the next few months), their developers would be welcome to submit it to the store!
@jn youre allowed to be a little mad i think
what compiler is targeting "multiplication but not division"?
@cancername @jn doesn't seem uncommon for embedded
This is very interesting because it's someone publicly quitting-and-denouncing "AI" research based on *actual* harms the technology does *now*, rather than wild fantasies of things it *might* do in future. https://social.coop/@cstanhope/117569603811492386
I predict this will get like 1/100th or 1/1000th the media attention of the guy who publicly quit a few months ago "whistleblowing" that the AI companies are building superintelligent skynet supergod
It's…not especially readable. The letter isn't. Lots of use of bold
@mcc haven't read the letter myself, but it's funny you mention the use of bold. I work at a different corpo and my department head always tells me to bold the text at key points, because otherwise the execs will not know where to look. This is because the company I work for is being run by people with the equivalent level of focus and engagement of a middle-schooler on a severe ketamine binge, so giving their eyes islands of bold in the text lets them comprehend at least 3 out of 10 words.
In his view of the world, Trump is the shining beacon of power and wisdom, so why should he care about those losers that couldn't win their local elections? Let them suffer. By accepting the election results. That's how he thinks, in my opinion.
@jwildeboer
He is also watching for disloyalty now, to remember and punish those later.
