I don’t remember hearing of it till now, yet it claims a lot of desired features. Github page shows only one contributor, one fork, 44 stars; lot of commits in the last week, oldest 3 years ago; GNU Affero General Public Licence v3.0.

i still think that the democrats should not impeach donald trump again
even if they're successful, what they're going to get is president j.d. vance, and i feel like he's the kind of slimy guy who spent the last two years meticulously figuring out the exact way to take dictatorial power in a way that won't fail the same way january 6th did
trump, at least somewhat, cares about his public image and wants to leave a good legacy for himself, and isn't married to a specific ideology (consider how much he used to jump parties before), so he's more pliable in that way and can work with the democrats on certain things (consider how friendly he was to zohran mamdani when the latter visited the white house -- i bet that in that case, his love of "winners" and new york city overrode his political rivalry)
whereas j.d. vance is a thiel-grown illiberal technocrat, for whom getting rid of democracy and replacing it with corporate rule is a goal, rather than a means to an end
do all the rest of the stuff -- subpoena and investigate trump's cronies, expand the supreme court, abolish ICE and so on
(or, alternatively, find something that can get both trump and vance impeached -- apparently, the third person in the US government succession chain is the speaker of the house, who will by then be a democrat)
Here’s the link to the Leaders from Law website, the mission statement page, https://www.leadersfromlaw.com/our-mission. TL;DR = we can’t sustain progressivism or U.S. Constitutional Democracy without progressive young lawyers retaining their interest in holding office. LFL gives them tools and guidance on how to keep that interest real and prepare to run. 2/
In 2020, I held a Leaders from Law workshop at the University of Missouri School of Law. There was a band of progressive law students there who were eager to host and attend. So I went, notwithstanding the long odds of progressives winning office there.
Last night, an alum of that workshop won a seat in the Missouri House of Representatives. https://ballotpedia.org/Tori_Schafer 3/
Puzzle update. That's the easy bit done. #JigsawPuzzle
1. There is still about 24 hours to make an application. We use AOE time for the deadline, so you have until about noon CET tomorrow to actually get it submitted.
2. If you don't want to miss this kind of news in the future, follow @swf . We post all of our major (and some of our minor!) updates and projects to our Fediverse-enabled blog.
I'm finishing up an application now, and it's before the stated deadline ("4 Nov 2026 (23:59:59, anywhere-on-earth timezone)"), but the grant link tells me:
> Sorry, this fund is not currently accepting applications.
I'll get the application ready so I can submit it; please let us know whether to submit through the portal or some other way? Thanks.
Hmm @rustoleumlove is this in your neighborhood/interests?
thanks for the heads up, but i dont have nearly as mcuh time on my hands these days and i think this stuff could find a better home than me
The fabulously beautiful planet Bethselamin is now so worried about the cumulative erosion by ten billion visiting tourists a year that any net imbalance between the amount you eat and the amount you excrete while on the planet is surgically removed from your body weight when you leave: so every time you go to the lavatory there it is vitally important to get a receipt.

@lauren In other countries, the government changes as soon as the election is declared. When will USA enter the 21st century? (or even 20th century)
@PeterLudemann The timing is specified by the Constitution. So it would take a Constitutional amendment (or a constitutional convention) -- the latter being a serious can of worms.

@cabel why THAT picture for the floppy? Is that supposed to be over the top but then it turned out like a weird family gathering portrait?
