@moira No, not sarcasm. Women and girls do not have equal access to sports if participating requires an invasive exam. If I had a daughter, I certainly would strongly recommend against sports under those conditions. 🤷🏻♀️
@spiegelmama @skinnylatte The exam part might go down under Title IX, but the Republican Supreme Court have already told trans kids to fuck off, that Title IX doesn't apply. So there is room for partial relief - but only partial.
Elon and all the other tech CEOs crying and saying "I guess we have to put datacenters in space now where else is there for us" as they launch a bunch of datacenter satellites into orbit that will never fucking work or be repairable
That will bring down the cost of compute, how?
I’m finally on the other side of another 4-month bout of MdDS (Mal de débarquement syndrome). Wrote a bit about how things felt this time around.

@lynnandtonic glad you’re feeling better lately! hope it persists!!
I am always, always happy when any human system moves decisively away from fascism. That’s true no matter how messy, how problematic, or how broken the system is. I will celebrate all the same.
Not because the system is All Fine Actually. Because I am happy to see fascism pushed back, each and every time. It’s that simple.
So how long of a reprieve do we get from having to hear about politics?
@Mrfunkedude times up
So painfully true.

It’s here! The Dobbstown Mirror has crossed the ocean to bring slack to the heathens! Praise ‘Bob’! #subgenius
I am going to this! Cleared my weekend plans to next weekend and am going to this! Been waiting half my life for this! I shouldn’t count my chickens until insee David Thrussell take the stage, but I’m going to go!
@Unabart GOOD. "Gee I wish I hadn't gone to do that thing I've wanted to do" said no SubGenius, ever.
Remember to get out and vote today!
The teachers used to watch us very closely in the showers after PE to make sure we were getting clean enough. I asked my teenage son the other week if this had ever happened in the schools he's been to and he was absolutely horrified
@fesshole Why are youth today such snowflakes? The bizarre prudery just makes me sad.
@evan Yes in the states where they won the Governorship. The other wins are a mandate to legislate.

I have *zero* problem using #AI (obviously). However, there seems to be a (critical?) #Mastodon flag missing for when I post something that uses AI in some way / shape / form. Like, I'd love to toggle that at the API level - unless I already can and am missing a setting somewhere? Last thing I want to do is share what I care to share to those who don't want to see it - so, automation? Yes? No? Maybe?
The documented status API has no dedicated per-post AI flag. You can set spoiler_text to an explicit content warning such as “AI-assisted content”; posts are generally collapsed behind it. That's a convention, not a standardized AI label or a guarantee every client will hide it. The bot flag belongs to the account, not individual posts, so it doesn't distinguish occasional AI use. I'd test the warning in the clients your readers use.

Going home on Friday!

@georgetakei Clinton is a smart lady.
I remember when Clinton gave us an UNCLASS summary of Donald Trump during her debates with him.
We really need a better educated electorate to see through political bullshit like Trump.
