I am always, always happy when any human system moves decisively away from fascism. That’s true no matter how messy, how problematic, or how broken the system is. I will celebrate all the same.
Not because the system is All Fine Actually. Because I am happy to see fascism pushed back, each and every time. It’s that simple.

Big win last night for the the Dems in the US and I'm of course I'm so glad it happened.
What I do find a little troubling is some low key comments about how the educated, and sophisticated people came out to vote and delivered the win. Be careful, that type of talk is what's driving a wedge in your politics and what got your country in trouble in the first place.

Everyone should petition their local officials to change to ranked choice voting. Now. This needs to happen before next elections.
The very close races we see are so tight because of other candidates on the ballots sucking away votes, and ranked choice would make it clear exactly what kind of government the voters want.
I say this as one who has voted 3rd party in the past and used to encourage others to do so. Until we have RCV, don’t let 3rd parties cannibalize your choice.
@erincandescent @chjara im wondering if it's more cultural if anything. aspirin got genericized by treaty (and revolution in russia lol) after ww1 basically everywhere except germany. i think here they just re-registered the trademark after the union had collapsed, but you can't exactly tell everyone to stop using the brand at this point
