Reminder as polls begin to close in the U.S.: Once the poll closes and the counting begins, no candidate or proposal races ahead or falls behind despite how the media frames it.
There are a fixed number of votes for each. It takes time to count all of them. They don’t come in uniformly. This is expected and acceptable.

I just found out about #Kiln Share—an app that allows you to find people in your area who will let you fire #ceramics in their kiln at low cost. If you don’t already have a membership, ceramics studios often charge a crazy amount per piece to fire, so this is great. I’m going to list my kilns later today. I see that there’s one other shared kiln in my town. @GhostOnTheHalfShell There's been an effort to take over standard organizations since standards organizations existed... I remember battling the issues over "standards" trying to be used to lock people into a specific manufacturer's way of doing things way back when I was working standards orgs for my job.... (Looking at you, CIsco)

@ArneBab @resuna @fogti @ketanjoshi85 oh, i'm sure the control aspect is a major motivation. i'm just frustrated at how little actual willingess to step back for a moment and think about things all the people at the very top of the bubble are displaying.
like, it doesn't make a lick of business sense to bet everything on an unproven technology with zero plan to make the *trillions* of investment back. it also doesn't really make that much sense from a control perspective; with this much money, you could easily just pay everyone around you to be a bunch of spineless yes-folk who always agree with you. it only makes sense if you are this extremely superficial and arrogant person who never actually thinks through *anything*.
