Another frustrating day trying to figure out how to pitch my employer to AI companies, so #GetFediHired:
Started an ISP, done codecs & 3d rendering & networked database internals, know a datum from a projection, worried about fractions of a microsecond. Showed that ONNX models should have been simple PCA derived linear systems.

To me, #Mastodon is by far the best social medium. But even the best can always get better. Here are four features, I would love to see:
1. Sharing more than 4 photos in a post.
2. Fast way to accept alttexts suggested by others.
3. Formalised way to append factual information to disinformation posts.
4. The ability to share longer, formatted texts.
5. A standardised way to display a user's country of residence for those who wish to do so.
What would you like to see?
@randahl I'd also love:
- To have a toggle to limit search results from only users I follow.
- A way to see some sort of badge that a user I'm viewing is on a server that has limited/defederated/etc. the server I'm viewing from.
how do i choose the right musical instrument?
Very proud of my team for all our work on this epic new MacBook Pro https://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/proled-xdr-display/
@sommer 👏🏼 🎉
Been making a large witches hat to go on top of a phone box. I've not done this before so I hope it works.
Narrowly dodged a phone scammer trying to pretend to be the fraud department of a bank I don't bank at. It sent up several red flags but I was also out at the grocery store and they did all the standard stuff about how someone is trying to take money out of your account and on and on. Eventually I was frustrated with them and said I'm just going to call the fraud department of my bank, goodbye.
Called my bank, they confirmed nothing at all was wrong with my account...
Oh and they'd spoofed Chase bank's caller ID too.
Fuck these guys.
We're back! (Was going to type "We're back BABY but it occurs to me that may be sexist and or offensive nowadays... maybe? Anyway, someone let me know).
1. Re-threaded the WHOLE MACHINE. The left bottom thread is particularly critical and is difficult to get right... there is a tiny little hole in the thing (needle? Shuttle?) in the end of the metal and the thread goes THROUGH the metal and then has to come back out and in the end. This is what went haywire last night.
2. Ordered new needles. These are working, but I keep breaking the thread. From prior experience, corrosion of the needle eye will cause friction and make it more likely it will break the thread while pulling, instead of drawing thread through the fabric, it snaps it.
3. Wondering how to smooth out two metal edges on the top which may not be as smooth as designed. Maybe very fine grade sandpaper?!?! Dunno.

"I'll do one of the little projects on my list!"
Tool I need is broken. Why was I fucking with this, 6 months ago? No memory.
Tool fixed but I'm mad at myself now.
We had our fourth spice bag tonight. Xi'an Street Food has hands down the best spice bag we've had so far, but I am happy to be convinced otherwise by those more knowledgeable. #Dublin #BaileÀthaCliath #TraditionalIrishCuisine
@evan Xi'an is a fave takeaway spot for sure ❤️
now the twist: it's not a joke
@Andres4NY @OneInterestingFact @akana Yeah, it's not spring tension. I poked around at this a lot more today too because YOU JUST DON'T KNOW and found ways to add more and it's still like "nope."
It's really frustrating because shifting up from 5 or 4, you see how it doesn't really get to the right place, but at the same time, when it does shift, it _does_ end up in the right place. Whereas shifting down, it always goes to the right (and as far as I can tell, the _same_) position.
@Andres4NY @OneInterestingFact @akana My half-assed guess at the moment is that maybe it's somehow got some subtle cable wind loosening bullshit? That's not at all really visible or obvious when you look at it? And I'm gonna try swapping out the cable to see what that does, if anything.
Very annoying.
It could also just be the shifter being worn, it's the turn-on-the-handlebar kind that interacts with the grip and it's very clear that it's seen some things. It looks okay on the inside, tho'. But, well.
Getting dozens of these
