Does anyone know how to summon a demon?

@dougbinks post anything that's wrong on the internet?
When I started on this road, I was specifically looking for Generic Pokemon.
When I was a kid, these were *everywhere*. Some of them were just pokemon bootlegs, unashamedly off model figures (those are still out there, but smaller and worse than they used to be.)
Here's the set I had from Family Dollar. Notice the Chain Chomp looking pokeball.
(incidentally, if any of you have any of these CATCH "A" MONSTER toys, and especially that horrible pokeball, I'll buy 'em off you.)
The last time I saw anything like this was circa 2014 with the Bungees Flick and Stick line from Jazwares.
As far as I can tell, these were Exceptionally unpopular, as I picked them up at a Bargain Hunt, which was like a Discounter Discounter, selling things that Big Lots couldn't sell (kind of the precursor to the Bin store, with a similar discount model.)
I believe I paid $2 per pack to get the full line of these little fucks.
They had magnets in their ass, and there was some game where they were supposed to be flicked at a magnetic board.
It didn't work, but the toys with their magnets stayed on my fridge through 5 moves. I still have one stuck to the cash register at the bookstore. (What can I say, I love a little critter)
Maybe we'll have a moment with #AI like Ford supposedly did with paying his workers more so that they could afford to buy the cars. But I doubt it.
@thatprivacyguy Very cool 😊 how did you come across this one? :D
@erikkemp I wanted to present the audit data in a more accessible way, so I pushed it through some python scripts into Blender :)
I have been going to gigs for over 30 years, but for some reason I will avoid wearing the t shirt of a band that are on the bill. I don't know why this is, but it's always been the case. I know this isn't the most exciting confession, but it is true.
@fesshole proper thing is to wear a shirt of a band in the same genre but more obscure.
This year the @Vivaldi team visited Siglufjörður as part of our yearly visit to Iceland. Parts of the team live in Iceland, but other members of the team live in Norway and around Europe.
It is great to spend quality time together. I feel lucky to work with such a dedicated team, who have common, shared values.
We have a lot of cool stuff coming up, which I look forward to sharing with you!
I have a strong need to disobey, so I often eat things labeled "Do not eat" or "Not for human consumption". Today I ironed something I was wearing because the iron manual said "Do not iron clothes while wearing them". Was careful not to burn myself though.

@kathimmel They just answered me !!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
@solane what did they say?!
@caustica It should be working again now
Please let me know if the issue still persist
@stux tried two times in a row just now. Still the same issue
Years ago I thought the most of the #Epstein case was a conspiracy, unfortunately it’s more horrific in reality
Some of the worlds most powerful people involved in crimes most of us refused to believe, now that there is some out there and we barely scratch the surface nothing seems to happen
If justice where to mean anything we would do as much as we could to hold them accountable, if stealing a bread ends you up in jail why aren’t we prosecuting the powerful who are a lot worse
I wont forget
@stux
In the past Epstein et al may have been conspiracy theories.
Now they're just conspiracies.
Employers have adopted a position of "don't water your neighbor's garden".
They see training as a waste because "train staff & they just leave for better paying jobs". Really, if 100% of new trainees are leaving that should be a red flag to management.
There's other factors at play. A desire for government subsidies. Collusion with training academies & predatory student loan issuers.
Excuse-making to overwork current staff. Pressuring them into unpaid overtime.
@nemobis yeah, that's the bubble popping, but they phrase it entirely in terms of themselves as an individual company
@davidgerard Yes. Even the next section, about the "rapid pace of change" which might make Anthropic irrelevant, is worded in such general terms which it also includes the scenario "people realise they were better off doing maths with pencil and paper", but it's framed in such a way that the growth in demand is a given, and the only risk is that Anthropic falls behind in how to provide for that demand.
@solane @RFancio @marion_v @Rania @Layan2002@mastodon.social @kathimmel I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the efforts that led to the restoration of my account. Thank you to everyone who cared about me, supported me, and stood by my side during this difficult time. I will never forget your kindness and solidarity, and I am deeply grateful to you all. 🤍
I also sincerely hope that Rania’s issue will be resolved and that she will be able to recover her account soon. I hope that all the efforts being made will lead to a positive outcome, and that none of us will be left to face such situations alone.
Apple's new $700 iPad Mini is better in almost every way than the Lenovo Tab One, which is roughly the same size.
But the Tab One cost me just $100 last week on sale at Best Buy. I use it for movies on airplanes and on the couch at home. It's more than good enough.
@dangillmor I think that is true of almost all Apple products. They are better but for sane people not better by enough to justify the massive price difference. But some people (with more money than common sense IMHO) insist on buying "the best" regardless of cost even if the capability is way beyond their needs.
CSS-Tricks is an independent site once again!

In #Munich, you might see (and hear, feel) this weird machine, making weird vibration and sound sweeps. This is part of the Giga-M project. Its goal is to create a detailed 3D map of the underground in Munich and surrounding areas (in total 1100 square kilometres) that will be made available as #OpenData to assist in planning geothermic plants. Switching away from fossil fuel for heating. Impressive!

@jwildeboer Oh! It has „EDM“ as the license plate and is basically a self driving giant base? What a fun coincidence.
Sorry, the app encountered an unexpected error
