Meanwhile on reddit.

Honestly kind of sounds like lemmy.world mods like Jordan Lund tho…

To get a project featured on the subreddit, developers now need to show it has been actively maintained for at least a year, has an established community, and has at least three contributors, give or take. Student projects such as note-taking apps and PDF viewers aren’t welcome either, and developers can no longer use the subreddit to find people willing to help maintain their software.

That creates a chicken-and-egg problem for independent developers, who apparently need an established community before they can use an open source forum to find one. Even projects with no AI involvement could fall foul of the rules. One Reddit user pointed out that their nine-year-old project, which has more than 300 GitHub stars and dozens of resolved issues, would no longer qualify because they’re its sole contributor.

The moderator also imposed a minimum Reddit account age of one year and requires significant prior contributions. Anyone who attempts to post and then contacts the moderators seeking an exception risks being permanently banned and muted.

"If Democrats win big, will they learn the right lessons from their victory?"

In a word? No. In several more words? "What, are you new?"

@mcc Relatedly, it’s only “agentic” software development if your software has a +2 charge. If it’s +1, that’s agentous software development.

@jackemled The Document Foundation kicked out Collabora Productivity, who made a bit over half the commits to the codebase, for entirely unclear reasons (Collabora doesn't know what they are either). Collabora now makes Collabora Office/Collabora Online itself. I don't know what Collabora's slop policy is.

@baldur When your business model is "any creative work by anyone anywhere in the world is immediately stolen"...

Certainly this will lead to an era of unparalleled creativity and productivity, right?

Seems you post a lot of duplicates. No wonder your posts get deleted if you keep spamming exactly the same post multiple times??!!? And then you violate community rules… After that you seem to be doing ban-evasion… I mean… Seems to me like Lemmy is working exactly as intended?! This isn’t a place to dump random spam posts? You gotta learn what this place is about.

You can’t just throw some dogfood at people and demand they like it. You’re not the center of the universe. Maybe start your own community if that’s your thing. You’d be able to make up your own rules there. There’s a button in the top menu bar.

@psistarpsiii I... Have coping strategies, at this point. They're a fact of life in my industry. 😞

@Canageek It's definitely possible. I'd read a little about it, but not enough to assess how significant the effect could be.

How long after rain until the wild mushrooms start popping up? Might have to take a couple of tours around the property to known locations and record some data points 😁

@adriano okay. can you explain, how exactly did you get those windows open before that without using the dock

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today.

Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man. Just last month, on Sept. 14, he turned 90, on the same day Brad and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary. I will always treasure that he and I shared that date.

Walter was more than Chekov. He was a writer, a teacher, a thoughtful man, and a loyal friend. To the fans who loved him for so many years, thank you. He loved you too.

Rest well, my dear friend. Keep navigating a steady course.

At Repair Cafe the other day, I had moderately successful day.

The thing I remember the best was some wired headphones, which I think lost some of its hacky (a piece of tape) electrical-insulation. Very simple construction, nothing more than a couple speakers in some snap-fitted plastic.

Also there was a cassette player in a casette/radio/CD combo unit broke. And I found myself recommending laserprinters over inkjet, due to heat damage in an existing inkjet.

It gets weirder. We are at this second facing a possibility that like gravity in Tiny Toons, this behavior only occurs if someone has described it to you https://lile.cl/@adriano/117509924414135547
