Nice to see the XR jam back for another round. Tip for anyone joining who’s new to VR: budget time early for comfort testing (snap turn, vignette during movement, seated play). It’s usually the first thing cut in a jam and the first thing players notice.

I know there's no such thing as a finished website, but the conversion from the old WordPress/PHP7.x website to a nice static website for #RC2014 is pretty close to being finished.
I'm really happy how this has turned out, despite being rushed through. I think everything works at least as well as before, and even all the old links seem to work too.

The Communist power installed itself by military force, not only when the Bolsheviks occupied a place after a battle to drive out the Petliurists, but also in places where the region was already free and the peasants were on their own.

sibling led us into the tavern to a table at the back with a view of the entire place. "ah, the Strider spot." they knew exactly what i meant.

@jalefkowit when they launch their touchscreen MacBooks the conversion to “generic consumer tech company” will be complete.

And also to be very clear: This is about companies, not the basement GPUs you run at home. These systems are not cheap, but here is an interesting development I hear more and more about in the various rumour mills. Racks and racks of NVIDIA systems are sitting in storage as data centres can't be spun up fast enough and a market of selling that surplus to companies that have empty racks in their own datacenter is real. And growing. But don't talk about it or else ;)

New: we got leaked audio of Flock's CEO speaking at a police conference. He said backlash to Flock isn't real (said it's bots and paid protesters; no evidence); his wife told him to never apologize; and he may never do media interviews again. Yep a lot of us built stuff like this before and will probably do it again.

Back when they started on that, we were worried they were going to kill ActivityPub like how Netscape got killed by IE durring the browser wars. EEE (Embrace, Expande, Eliminate), adopt the protocol, expand its capabilities while including propriatary portions of code, and lock the competition out when market saturation is achieved.

The issue is that fedivers residents are a bunch of tech-literate weirdos and called this bullshit the second the news dropped, and are 100% the type of people who make forks as soon as something like that would actually happen. Piefed being the perfect example, this part of the internet is perfectly fine just picking up their things and making something else (and we love it here for that).
