I could be the first person ever to discover roast parsnips with pesto. It's unlikely but not impossible. You'd never know, would you? You just don't think to question this sort of stuff. Maybe not that because it's quite obvious - I assume other people think to pair things that start with the same letter. Like wearing pink pyjamas and smoking a pipe. Pouring a pitcher of Pimms into a piano. It's the most natural thing in the world. But perhaps not....... Grapes with...... Sriracha. Because that would be fucking mental. Or...... New TikTok trend? You are literally never going to believe this.... Looked it up and it is genuinely a viral TikTok trend. God and irony are dead dead dead. Is it ironic? (don't you think?) I genuinely believe we have at least one original thought in each of us. Let's do it now. Think of one thing that is entirely original. You can do it. I'd give you some pointers but we only have all of current human knowledge to draw from, which invariably leads us to thoughts that have already been thunk. We need new ways. New paths to follow. Or maybe not even paths. But to step through a doorway to another way. Become a helicopter blade and slowly rotate off into the atmosphere - change up our perspective to come up with a never-before thought thought, liiiiiike.............. A collapsed star trapped in a soap bubble, impossible symbiotic physics - a perfect structure. Equal pressure containing all of the force within a gossamer thin shell. True natural beauty. Finally understanding, delivered as a physical metaphor. The saviour of our human condition, bootstrapping the next phase of our evolution. We are all collapsing stars, and only the fragile nature of soap holds us back from imploding and taking out the whole fucking neighborhood. Is this a new thought? I feel dangerously close to something. What would we evolve into? Ha-HA! It's a trick! We'd go BACKWARDS into monkeys. Monkeys are the ideal form. We'd just smash the shit out of our smartphones and go and live up a tree. Checking each other for nits and chewing on some grass. Ocassionally just having a lovely big scream. I long to be a monkey.
@TheBreadmonkey Proof that regularly changing the clocks is not good for us. I will write a paper for the medical journals.
DST-end is confusing, isn't it?
Todo el mundo muy fan del cyberpunk, los vampiros y las historias que pasan de noche pero os cambian la hora para que se haga oscuro a las seis de la tarde y os ponéis a llorar.

some feedback about Lemmy/PieFed from Reddit users
I’ve tried both [Lemmy and PieFed], and the UX is incredibly unintuitive and unpleasant. The main problem is that it’s quite hard to discover content you want while avoiding content you don’t, Bluesky at least has really good custom feeds that are easy to add (the default feed sucks). Another big issue is the general site layout, it’s hard to figure out how to do things as simple as saving a post for later or how to go back to the feed without being redirected back to the post I’m trying to exit.
Maybe they didn’t see the “Feeds” feature in PieFed? The top navigation menus in PieFed are a bit messy. Although shareable blocklists could be cool too, or maybe toxic?
That’s excluding the horrible lack of contrast most frontends use, which makes reading and parsing the site elements unnecessarily difficult (no Lemmy, grey text on a grey background is not good for readability).
I like the Lemmy colors, but maybe it should be easier to change, because they might like the darkly-pureblack theme.
Fediverse feels slower, but not in a good way. More of a ‘if I don’t use this for a week, I’ll see new things’. If I log in after 2 or 3 days, I’ll scroll for 10 minutes and see the stuff I saw last time.
Maybe this is a UX issue of not finding the right feed they would like.
I also want nsfw stuff now and then. I hate how censored the internet has become, at least with reddit if I want to see a bit of porn, I can.
Again maybe a UX issue of not presenting what communities they could subscribe to.
I tried twice to join those forums within the Fediverse and I can’t get past the captcha test. The fact that you need approval to validate your access doesn’t seem designed to encourage you to recommend it.
The captchas on Lemmy are AWFUL, I can’t do them either.

(that’s the “Medium” difficulty)
Lemmy v1.0 is adding the ability to do invites, so maybe there will be an invite-only instance that gets some momentum, that could be cool. Invite sites seems like a cool old-internet type of culture.
The fediverse stuff is way too complicated for me, Reddit is very easily accessible and actually has active communities for the topics I’m interested in.
Of course these are naturally going to be all negative because they’re users that bounced off the Threadiverse, but there’s probably hints to what can be improved

@opentechfan @_elena I have one teen that wakes up early, and another that wakes up late. I also have a cat that complains at all hours. Our bedroom door remains locked until my wife and I are both ready to face the world each day.

@TheBreadmonkey Fully read that as Olivia Coleman pegging Alexander Skarsgård and now the movie can only disappoint
Despite massive investments and widespread hype around artificial intelligence, the technology has delivered zero financial payoff to corporate America outside of tech. Revenue per worker is rising for the Mag 7 but is flat for the S&P 493. And there are still no signs of AI boosting productivity growth https://www.apollo.com/wealth/insights-news/insights/daily-spark/no-signs-of-ai-payoff-outside-the-tech-sector i can’t wait to see how this all goes down between wars, inflation, job losses and AI. Tiny percentage of humans always have unleashed hell on the rest of us out of greed

the problem is theres barely content on lemmy. while reddit has the SLOPFLEST, and niche content combined.
