So I splurged on an OP-XY (I'm insane) and will be playing around with new music hopefully; and I have been trying to get some voiceover work and went back to listen to a song I did back when that had some spoken word, to see if I wanted to include it in my VO profile, and gee I liked my little #bootyshakers EP from 2015, listen if you like https://bittersweetdb.bandcamp.com/album/foam
@bittersweetdb welcome to the insane OP-XY owners club!
@Amuamu She's a bit quiet, but she likes the same TV shows as the two of you. 😁
@tsturm Yeah. She doesn't seem to watch TV either, and she doesn't seem to be picky about food 😌
The vibe in France is bleak. I'm quite scared for tomorrow to be real, with the government threatening to call in the army. One last drawing before heading into the fire.

@diegodlh place in Leipzig, https://leila-leipzig.de/ seems to use myturn.com - no idea.
But actually, that would be my recommendation - to find other places doing what you're looking to do and copy them. In German, the term is "Leihladen"... Oh, this!! https://datengraben.com/notes/list-of-leihladen/
"Because I also care deeply about this, I am sharing here my attempt at a comprehensive list of so called “Leihladen” software, with the focus on open-source solutions."
List of Leihladen
This posting describes the list of software that is open-source and in active use to facilitate initiatives that let humans lend things to other humans.
Background and previous work
There are different concepts for organized networks of collective sharing, Library of things are literally called in Germany Bibliothek der Dinge, or similiar Leihladen or older Ludothek or in Sweden they are called Fritidsbanken.
At least for Germany I know there is a active community of people, that care about these networks and create or curate information about them. Though the different actors come in different forms, some with non-profit background, some of them with active funding or some even with commercial appliances.
Obligatory french version pour les camarades.
Over the past couple of days, the Trump regime has made clear its plans to subvert the current U.S. general election. In an effort to keep control of the House, the Trump regime is threatening California county clerks who do not cooperate with the regime’s effort to sow unwarranted suspicion about noncitizen voting. https://apnews.com/article/california-department-of-justice-noncitizen-voting-election-0a70161dba31a833fa75507a7484853b 1/
@heidilifeldman
Trump will probably be looking at the prediction markets to see when to change his mind.
I know the README says they started using Claude.
Doesn't matter, 100% safe Rust is still safe. Upstream brotli is by Google and they use agents too.
The choice is between unsafe LLM code and safe LLM code. I'll take the safe version.
@lina alas this didn't play so well with the tar decompression crates by those who adopted the past months and had some terrible vulnerabilities 😞 (yes I know it's not memory safety and proper domain modeling would have avoided them but still hurts)

Wenn junge Leute protestieren, werden wir das kaum beachten.
Wenn sie dabei Dinge zerstören, werden wir uns unendlich empören.
Wir werden nicht beachten, was wir ihnen alles zerstört haben.
I had several doctors appointments, blood tests and a scan of my head because I kept having one pupil larger than the other. But it turned out to just be the difference in prescription on my lenses giving the illusion of a difference. Can't tell my wife.
This screen is incredible - can’t wait to dive in tonight!
@tchaten fancy!
@container5573 @GrapheneOS thanks for the info. I tried using grapheneOS via scrcpy over adb on a pixel 8pro and thinkpad t14
I was less than impressed, unfortunately. Is that the way you would recommend? I am a bit of a newb when it comes to things like this. Wouldnt this ultimately just be screen mirroring your pixel on desktop?
@digitalguardian @container5573 No, that has nothing to do with desktop mode. GrapheneOS itself can use an external monitor, mouse, keyboard and other peripherals directly. It doesn't need another computer involved. What you're doing has nothing to do with desktop mode. You're using a third party tool via debugging functionality we recommend against using on a production device. Giving a much less secure computer access to the device via ADB is not recommended outside development/debugging use.
@algernon zstd is facebook
@jacksonchen666 yes, but as far as I can tell, unlike brotli, it is used much wider outside of fb.
@diegodlh ah, I should know...
So let me get it clear: a platform for displaying, borrowing and sharing tools? Like a tool/thing library?
Did anyone manage to hack @karrot to do this? @nathaliesz @nick ? Perhaps you also have a better overview of what's out there now.
Here is this week's #Linux and #OpenSource news video, in which the ensloppification is everywhere, Bitwarden makes some licensing changes, LibreOffice breaks download records, and more !

Anyone knows of a tool like @inventaire, but for sharing tools (e.g. drill, wrenches, soldering iron, etc.) in a community?
¿Alguien conoce alguna herramienta tipo @inventaire, pero para compartir herramientas (ej., taladro, llaves, soldador, etc) en una comunidad?
@maxlath? @douginamug? @davidcoronel? Any ideas?
