I’m trying to figure out which is better (or worse I guess) if it’s the wrong Dana White or the right Dana White.
@paul maybe they typo’d and meant Vanna White?

(Possibly a euphemism)
Gonna be a long night for light crews in Seattle. 46k customers and counting out of power. Let's here it for backup batteries.
Here's why garment factory workers in Bangladesh are striking:
Take a woman working a 12-hour shift in a textile factory in Bangladesh. During her shift she sews more than 150-200 t-shirts for Zara, Levis, Walmart and H&M. Her pay for the entire day? Less than $5.
H&M takes those shirts and sells them to European consumers for more than €20 each. That's over €4,000 in retail value. Generated by her hands. In a single day.
H&M runs massive ad campaigns in Europe talking about "conscious" fashion and "sustainability." But there's nothing sustainable about a system that uses their workers up like a cheap commodity.
This is why Bangladeshi workers are shutting down garment factories all over the country. They aren't just asking for a few extra cents. They are striking for the right to be treated like human beings.
We must follow the rule: Better fewer, but better. We must follow the rule: Better get good human material in two or even three years than work in haste without hope of getting any at all. - Lenin, Better fewer, but Better (1923)
I've been carrying around an idea for a federated code forge for a while. Two things sharpened it recently: Tangled's post on the federated code forge, which builds a forge on the AT Protocol, and a Jujutsu workshop (Korean) by Seongmin Lee (@boltless.me), who works at Tangled, held at @turingappledev.
My version would build on ForgeFed, the #ActivityPub protocol for code forges (spec), so that repositories, issues and merge requests federate the way posts already do. The idea is early enough that I haven't even come up with a codename. What I want from it, roughly:
jj) as equal clients. Not Git hosting with Jujutsu support bolted on, but a forge that understands both, so what Jujutsu is actually good at, stacked changes, becomes a first-class unit of review instead of a pile of separate pull requests.forge.example/myrepo instead of forge.example/owner/myrepo.Where this stands: I haven't read the whole #ForgeFed spec, Fedify doesn't ship the vocabulary yet (fedify-dev/fedify#751), and I have too much else going on to start soon. If you've run a forge or implemented ForgeFed, I'd like to hear whether any of this makes sense.
@thefinalstrawradio cool folks and a cool project! heads up that the zine spells Alecia's name Alicia
@grayhaven thanks for the headsup. We will fix this

Chief O'Brien repurposes the station's computers to mine QuarkCoin although they ran out of the special effects budget and just solved everything with a meeting.

How did this one not take 25 minutes? I think it's been sulking since the Long Ladder affair earlier.
@peterw Oh, are you my other neighbour?
@futzle I am if the screaming of “listen, listen to me everyone” will herald marco polo starting in the pool. Whoever invented that game is surely in the depths of hell for their crimes.
If AI does turn the internet into a wasteland no one responsibly wants to connect to, that might qualify as a new dark age.

@Steveg58 Nah, he’s a lover, not a fighter.
