It sits on the National Mall, which, despite the name, is not a shopping center. Lies and deceit are everywhere in DC.
@mattblaze The Smithsonian “castle” predates the museums. The area was called the “Mall” before the first “shopping mall” was created. I know you’re being facetious, it’s just I have a lot of respect for DC’s history and for the civil servants who labor there from one administration to another.

I'm not plugged into the relevant school-scene to credibly suggest how to convey this tactfully. But I hope you smoothly avoid feeding their prestige at your expense (and, by precedent, perhaps at the expense of others after you).

I came to a local Asian Fusion place because I fancied some sushi and I was having a nice time at the bar, reading my book, sushi was great, enjoying a cocktail, bopping along to the atmospheric Spanish music vibe and then it turned 8.30 and they cranked up the music and it's all ummtish ummtish, shake that booty at a volume where I can't hear myself think and I need to finish this drink and get out of here asap. Why have music so loud in a restaurant? There's no dancefloor.

For a while, I was under the impression that all spiciness, or burning sensation in food flavoring, would come from capsaicin, the compound that causes it in chili peppers. Then I realized that Sichuan peppers are a quite different kind of heat. Wasabi (horseradish) is different yet again.
