Coffee plant update. I bought this guy back in 3 months ago from a grower in Santa Barbara. First photo back then. 2nd today. He’s doing well. #plants #bloomscrolling #gardening
@ai6yr yes it does 😁 it’s mail order from a company called Frinj, a grower in Santa Barbara who had been working to acclimate them to SoCalish environments.
I have two others I bought from a guy who harvests seeds from coffee plants growing wild in the foothills of Santa Barbara - I’ll post them soon after I repot them.
@robertcadena Thanks! I knew the owner of the company (sadly, passed away end of last year in an accident). Coffee plants growing wild?!?!?
(I have been trying to start coffee plants not too far away -- 50 miles? but no success except the plants I bought, several from the 99 cent store, and others from Ikea). I didn't know Frinj was also selling plants.

Yeah. He mentioned whereabouts he harvested them but I can’t remember.ill ask him and I might go hiking around there next time. He had a set of 10 or so. He sold seed too but they looked dry
@robertcadena WOW, that plant looks like it's doing phenomenally well! Which grower.. .mail order?
