@PatrickHerd @ai6yr @moira Thermal violence is the solution to all of these problems. Whether it's because it lets go from a little bit of heat movement or ends up an ingot is all part of the mystery.
Enjoyed an afternoon tour of 3 #Gatineau microbreweries via #Ottawa 's Brew Donkey.

these two posts got boosted in my TL tonight, and i reboost for a deeper, calmer thinking on AI. both posts get very precise about what they call and what is AI, LLM, vibecoding, and so on.
both, especially the first, include "AI" not only in a technical but also ethical and political thinking.
Despite being hilariously unemployed I have ordered myself an M-VAVE FM1 synth. It's got open source firmware so it's research for @linuxlads of course. That's what I keep telling myself anyway.
I also purchased the MPK Mini Mk4 purely for the transport controls ngl. Chord and scale controls are an added bonus because I'm shit at music.
@stranded_output @linuxlads I was excited about these until I saw how all the firmwares were being vibe coded, which just isn't for me. Guess that's just how the world is now 😭

@bert_hubert @cwebber wow! The inclusion of the experiment on reviewing quality is very useful! I can't believe that research isn't more famous in general... but it explains something quite fundamental. I've always felt this vague feeling that code review isn't what we say it is. The experiment proves that, and makes clear that reviewing AI generated code is never going to give us what we want from it: a guarantee that we aren't introducing weird new bugs we don't understand.
For a while, I was under the impression that all spiciness, or burning sensation in food flavoring, would come from capsaicin, the compound that causes it in chili peppers. Then I realized that Sichuan peppers are a quite different kind of heat. Wasabi (horseradish) is different yet again.
How many hot-flavored compounds are there? At least five!

Now don't get me wrong the US left & DNC tea leaves readers like me will debate who gets credit for these "blue" wins until the heat death of the universe.
But one thing is clear Trump and the Republicans lost BIGLY. They have no one to blame but themselves
And we're all laughing at MAGA for putting their electoral future in Trump's hands.
Only time will tell how that shit stain on American history will react (probably bombing Iran more) but for now this week is funny af
So if you've been listening closely to each of the politicians who pulled of BIG upsets above you might have noticed something similar between them.
- FULL fledged support for Medicare for All
- Ending military support to Israel
Those seem to be the TWO top election issues lately and the comedians(above) and entertainers especially like Charlamagne tha God have been harping on both of these issues for years now and has been constantly underscoring how the DNC leaders are in the way.
“WHAT are you wearing?”
“It’s the actuator arm from a JT-4000 binary load lifter”
“Um, why?”
“Inherited it from my grandfork, its first day of synth pride month, you know”
“Oh, so it is. Happy pride!”

Fediverse
Does any of you know any fediverse federation maps?
Are there any maps showing which instances federate which others? Like those maps with nodes and connections
It’s for no particular reason, I’m just curious >.<
Alright, the fediverse has decided that I should be responsible and do my mending before starting a new project.
I have one pair of overalls that I need to fix a split seam, one pair of jeans that I need to take in, and a hoodie that I want to figure out how to modify it so I can wear it (whether that's buffering the inner seams or taking it apart and re-sewing it with cotton thread TBD)
I'll see you all in about 25 minutes!
