Today's Low Quality Ad is for this Build-on Brick Coffee Mug. It's a neat idea, but think how much it hurts stepping on a Lego. And then imagine how much it would hurt to step on a Lego AND spill piping hot coffee on yourself.

Watching Abdul El-Sayed in interviews and it’s just banger after banger.
@carnage4life only the radicals make the World better. We want change not corporate America
*rubbing eyes* in MSBuild, what is the difference between DependsOnTargets and AfterTargets? Isn't that the same thing?
So I feel like this has happened to me nine times, in three different build systems, and I'm so tired.
We have an MSBuild project. It has targets A,B,C,D. Target D has an AfterTargets="A;B;C" in its xml.
When we run the project, we visibly see in the output window that the targets run in the order C;D;A;B. Moreover, the output of D is incorrect, as if D had been run without A and B having run first.
Why. Why. Why. Why. Why.
How do I convince MSBuild to do what I tell it to.
Let us please keep this straight MSM ... AI stocks didn't drop because of the Democrats. They dropped because their artificial valuation was protected by grifters and con-men in power shoveling funding to techbros to support their authoritarian takeover of democracy.
The people valued accountability over the stock market. The money was never actually there, and still isn't there, which is why the tech stocks will continue to fall....
quality health care providers with good educations make the difference. dealing with insurance red-tape, documentation, makes their job much more tedious and doesn't contribute to health care. I'd like to see medical groups cut out the middle-men and offer care while collecting the premiums directly from people. insurance has it's places. just not in general health care. let the providers buy insurance to cover extraordinary expenses.
@m3t00 this is called direct primary care btw and it’s like $75/month
Meanwhile Hispanics had an outlier year many hope will stick. HIGH voter turnour and some of the least support for conservatives we've seen in KEY races.
However.... ummm its SHOCKING to ppl like me to see OVER 40% of Latino men are STILL voting for conservatives.
Fair bit of online debate this week about why and how.
Imo the big question is will the Latino step left this cycle stick when Trump and ICE aren't in the headlines?
https://www.as-coa.org/articles/how-latinos-voted-2026-us-midterm-elections
Sadly we have a lot of realtime statistical evidence for one of the US' oldest political pattern remaining fully at play... and clearly 40% of Latino men and nearly a 3rd of Latino women are hoping for the pattern to hold as their solution to rising fascism.
@bert_hubert I mean, if this is your mouse, then it has certainly travelled well!
@neil @bert_hubert mice apparently love little cars. Oops, its rats.
First time I have ever wanted to see a movie in 4DX
If this is guerrilla marketing for 4DX some agency really earned their fee
The only appropriate thing to do after seeing this storm name is post this song:

@ai6yr
The main thing wrong with this song is the lyrics describing horrible people.
@ariadne@social.treehouse.systems Heh "polite jewish standoff."
@2something yes, a polite jewish standoff with my polite jewish family. i'm jewish.
I've been invited to speak at a *very* prestigious school. But their policy is to provide dinner and standard class rail fare to a reasonably close city ... and no fee.
Should I accept?
(Added in edit: the invitation is probably from a student society, who will therefore have virtually no funds, and certainly no discretion.)
It is a *very* prestigious school, and I could do it for exposure and the CV. But as @virtuosew points out ...
People die of exposure.
So ... should I accept? Or should I say that my policy, now that I'm reasonably established, is not to give unpaid talks to well-funded institutions.
Is it a student society, which undoubtedly could pay you a fee, or is this an insttitutional policy, or a "policy". Ask to see a copy of this "policy". Ask others who have spoken there.
Set a standard rate and stick to it. You can't eat prestige.
Breaking News: Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD): No Coronation For Schumer
Let me just say this. There should be no coronation of the next Democratic leader. I've said very clearly that we need to have a discussion in the Democratic caucus. We need to understand what the Democrats are going to do with this new responsibility, and these new powers and that nobody should get a blank check... For example we need to use all our power starting right now to end the illegal and senseless war in Iran.
Wildwood was an outstanding piece of art in so many way. Definitely see it in theaters if you can. I absolutely loved it! It felt fresh and creative and dark and important. Don't sleep on it.
@nategullion It looks amazing.
The old phone you can still buy new today - Cortelco 250044
@Perrin42 @ai6yr that's one of those almost certainly human error types of things that will result in new mandatory procedures. I looked pretty closely at playback near Jacksonville and saw no MAX 9s diverting so presumably they were able to complete their flight, but without a doubt somebody did something wrong and hopefully for their sake it was within guidelines that just need to be rewritten.
So I boosted a slopped cartoon about chess pieces cuddling. Turns out that account is just a constant stream of slop and one of them just happened to go a bit viral.
The OG artist of the chess carton makes a lot more wholesome and cute comics.
It makes me angry that the slop version is getting spread so far and wide while the originals aren't.
Go take a break from your day and enjoy these: https://www.wawawiwacomics.com/comics
@neil Teach it to do crimes.
Joking aside, if you're planning to release it you need to drive it shockingly far away. I was doing live traps last year; tagged a few mice with nail polish, released them almost 3 miles away, and caught at least two of them again (could have been more, the nail polish wears off pretty quick from what I understand).
@notthatdelta Mice have tiny nails - I am very impressed that you managed to paint them!
