I’m not actually dying but doesn’t feel any different
@farah Well, that sounds unpleasant.
@mpjgregoire@cosocial.ca this seems more like your wishlist than reality. In the move to sovereignty the EU and Canada have both built infrastructure on ATProto. There's also Blacksky, Pinksky, Latinsky and others. Twitter prior to Musk was never profitable and was born during the time of a recession and still exists. Musk has enough money so X isn't going anywhere and if they needed to in a similar way Bluesky could lean into partners for sizable donations in a way mastodon did. Bluesky is the most vulnerable but not likely to be harmed
@damon Could be you're right.
What infrastructure has Canada built on ATProto? Are you thinking of governments in Canada, or private Canadian organisations?

Me personally I would say that private votes are better if possible. But you should be able to filter when you’re logged in what you upvoted and downvoted. That’s how I would like it ideally.

extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and so far the things they pass off as evidence doesn't even hit the "ordinary" mark
@rnd That's the Woke Commie Demoncrat ethics book; in their book, extraordinary claims require lots of bluster and shouting so nobody will question them.
This is for the CS and programmer sorts is a moment that I think we are in the same boat as graphic artists.
Some of the highest skilled work is being threatened.
It's really not just ETH.
Its SaaS, its cybersecurity its everything software right now.
We are newly vulnerable to automation.
We have no unions practically.
And the fight for the old ways is not looking great in the face of a new pace of change.
It's about bringing all 'work product' under the control of the employer.
1/2 Spectra's got some maintenance planned for this weekend, and in the interests of not adding to their overhead, I'm going to skip the usual Fossil Sweeper dev stream this week...
Edit: Edit: And again this week too
Feel bad about hoarding RAM that could be used by Sam? No worries, I just launched https://uploadyourram.org/ so you can give your RAM to those in need

@corbin heyyyy fellow cart boy reporting in. Except I did it for Safeway, ha. And I *wish* we had the motorized helpers. :(
Though I guess a benefit to this was that you didn’t need a gym membership when you could just huck carts around for 4 hours a day. Silver linings.
@xodium Oh yeah, that was easily the most fit I have been in my adult life lol
