Porting Willows TWIN (A Win16/Win32 emulator that started in 1993) to modern-ish Linux. Making some progress, but I saw an error from #skifree that probably very few people have seen!
Yet outta memory, duuuude!

I did not get quite everything I wanted Tuesday BUT, I did get this email from my new state senator "I spent $0 on voter data and $0 on data brokers who sell your personal information. I spent $0 supporting Meta & Google which earn billions of dollars annually off of unchecked fraud and scams, supports CSAM websites with ad placements, and seeks to addict and manipulate people of all ages. I spent $0 on targeted ads abusing your sensitive data. This campaign didn't run a single attack ad." 😍

Government must move away from toxic social media platforms | Open Rights Group [Video]
We shouldn’t be forced to use toxic platforms that track and profile us in order to get public information.
Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube track and profile their users so that they can target advertising towards them.
Their business models fuel online harms by pushing more and more extreme content to users. Despite this, these platforms are one of the primary ways that government departments share public information.
Tell your MP to support the EDM calling on the UK Government to ensure that all public sector social media content is published on open, decentralised and federated platforms!

> It looks like a beard trimmer that plays Phil Collins songs. It looks like it should come free with a Sports Illustrated print subscription in 1987. Maybe it'll look better if you hit ctrl-alt-delete a few times or close WordPerfect in the background. Maybe it's just weird to see it outside of its natural environment, upright on the wall of a public restroom, dispensing paper towels.
@castanea_jo hmm, okay, maybe worth a look for that! (didn't see any music in the listing or the photos, though, just fancy stuff)
@ai6yr @castanea_jo Maybe the stereo too; this guy had bucks.
obsessed with the "possibly living people" category on wikipedia that has like 4000 pages

I am inexplicably terrified of spiders. Well, it's not really inexplicable. It's quite 'splicable - them terrifying beasties. However. I'm trying to be better with my spider pals. That being said - for some reason, the ones that have broken through the barrier are these little gents. I don't mind them at all. In fact I'm quite amiable towards them. These little fellows (whom for some reason I've gendered as male, despite clearly being female for some ineffable reason) are right up my straße and I'm quite content to have them in my world. Let us cohabitate, my little chums. Weird, eh?
We have loads of these. I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that they were garden spiders which had infiltrated the house.
They seem to spin very fine, fluffy webs that are annoying, particularly if you walk into them.
Very probably the more your submission appeared to be written by generative AI, the more likely it would be to be accepted. If some person came in with an ungainly, unreadable patch and was aggressively pushing a project to accept it you'd get suspicious and wonder why but if an AI did that you'd be oh well AIs are just like that and AI written code is just like that
@mcc at least one paper published last year in a computer science conference could assess that LLM evaluation can easily be gamed if you use LLM yourself.
Water Temple definitely not as much of a twat as I remember. Bar one bit, sailed through.
Top tip. Don’t be me. Go back to Kakariko Village after the water temple.
“What made the flight particularly interesting was not simply its destination, but the aircraft’s apparent identity.
“According to ItaMilRadar, the jet transmitted the ICAO 24-bit address 300AB4 and the callsign ICVMN with the first falling within the block allocated to Italy, and the latter resembling an Italian civil registration (I-CVMN).
“However, neither appear to be linked to any known aircraft.”

no, it is not rational for me to continue posting Odesli links considering they were acquired by fucking Linktree in 2021 and apparently completely abandoned. they can't even be bothered to keep the ToS, Privacy Policy, and API ToS links current and compliant.
sorry, this kind of thing makes me absolutely livid lol. but I guess it's my fault for investing so much in a single proprietary platform.
any day now, I should expect the hundreds of odesli links I've posted here to fail I guess. (Odesli was built by one guy if I remember correctly. I hope he at least got an yuge amount of cash for it.)
Hmm, estate sale ad. My interpretation is that the person here was an attorney, had no hobbies, and spent their entire life working, and thus the estate sale will be boring and not worth it. (because, no hobbies).
@ai6yr Those are nice bookcases.

Also, that really is my #emacs color theme, and I really do read my email in emacs.
@shapr Many years ago, someone told me to try Spacemacs to replace Vim ... and so, now it has been many years using it (I also switched from Common Lisp to Guile). Nice to find you here! regards!
«L’Avenir en commun», ou la version remixée du programme de LFI à la sauce 2027. Il sort ce vendredi et a doublé de volume par rapport à 2022. On vous dévoile tout sur la fabrication du programme de Mélenchon.

@lesjoursfr Le programme est toujours aussi profondément validiste que le précédent ?
Rolling my eyes at the (now-blocked) person who asked if I "take back" my comments on Mississippi recounts now that it looks like Colom is ahead.
No. Voters deserve accurate election results, no matter who the winner is. Period.
Just for that, here it is again. Sheesh. https://www.mattblaze.org/blog/rla-ms/
@mattblaze and add some boosts for more exposure.
