@knowprose Perhaps, although the big third party news from yesterday was on the other side of the political map:

@SteveFoerster that's a good sign. 🙃

You can tell I am too tired to do anything useful today...

🚨 The $TRUMP meme coin just fell to an all-time low of $1.22—98% off the $73.43 high it hit shortly after debuting. 📉
Buyers were already an estimated $3.2 billion underwater.

As expected this morning, the media is all about characterizing pursuing accountability as retribution, and restoration of the #RuleOfLaw as vindictiveness.
#WeThePeople can not let this propaganda effort sidetrack the important work of saving democracy by driving these fascist criminals out of power.

@karmic_resonance yeah, they never will, no matter who wears the ring. they're a publicly traded company beholden to doing whatever is best for shareholders. there's no morality or soul or thought beyond the question of 'does this decision make the line go up?'
@tsrono @karmic_resonance exactly what I think. And the "cowardice" and "ass-kissing" isn't real either...they just do what works on Trump so that he gives them what they want. They seem more reasonable with other powerful leaders because those leaders want that from them.
People in top positions at global mega-corporations didn't get there by accident. They know how to get people to do what they want.
please...

I saved that name slide. Nice point-in-time reference.
I am reading the ar15.com election thread, because I like to go find extreme right-wing organic idiocy as a kind of self-punishment, and am having a laugh. It's almost as good as the Thanksgiving threads on Free Republic where the ancient chuds cry their children don't speak with them anymore.
A thing that has come up once or twice is that they don't really have to be worried about the Liberals, because the last times they had power they did nothing for their base. Even the Enemy knows lol
@manu as in, which TLDs are most prevalent?

O.K., the 1st of these polls have completed!
There's heavy interest in using Alonzo to process & generate files! And decent interest in using it to build network servers.
Fairly small sample size so things might change in practice, but offering primitives to read/write files would open up significant opportunities at minimal time investment!
I'm thinking of representing files as lists of bytes, for the REPL to expose as open/save dialogs?
1/2!
As for networking in Alonzo... I'm not sure how that primitive will work!
Each packet could be a list of bytes, just like files are. But how'd I represent an interactive stream of them in a "pure" data model?
Or I could say that if a "Future" exception's thrown it'll be recomputed later?
Functional Reactive Programming (FRP) suggests a means of combining them if need be, but I doubt the need would be that great.
Well, ... I still have time to settle on something!

When managers routinely work overtime, subordinates may match that behavior out of anxiety about what will happen if they refuse to conform. When employees give up personal interests due to social pressure, it can erode well-being & increase staff turnover. https://www.scienceofmoney.org/when-a-boss-s-self-sacrifice-becomes-an-unspoken-demand-on-employees-1373/
@JoshuaACNewman @glyph Movie studios may have stopped being the high-risk high-reward sites, but isn't that just because *streaming services* became the high-risk high-reward sites? Leading to the boom and then bust in the creative industries over the last ten years?
