O.K., turning this into a poll...
What might you want to build using Alonzo?
So I have some idea of what to expect.
Initially Alonzo will support modal UIs, but with your help I'm happy to extend to support more than that!
I may create another poll with your "Other" responses.
As for networking in Alonzo... I'm not sure how that primitive will work!
Each packet could be a list of bytes, just like files would be. But how'd I represent an interactive stream of them in a "pure" data model?
Or I could say that if a "Future" exception's thrown it'll be recomputed later?
Functional Reactive Programming (FRP) suggests a means of combining them if need be, but I doubt the need would be that great.
Well, ... I still have time to settle on something!

Now, I won't actually have time for any of these, but these are (some of) the things I would want to build.
O.K., the 1st of these polls have completed!
There's heavy interest in using Alonzo to process & generate files! And decent interest in using it to build network servers.
Fairly small sample size so things might change in practice, but offering primitives to read/write files would open up significant opportunities at minimal time investment!
I'm thinking of representing files as lists of bytes, for the REPL to expose as open/save dialogs?
