There are a lot of things Dems should do for the next two years, but one of the most important is to pass bills that we need even if Trump vetoes them. Make the GOP publicly vote against what people actually want over and over, against the bills and against overriding Trump's vetoes. Then the Dem presidential candidate in 2028 can point at all the bills and say "Congress will pass all these laws again when I'm president, and I'll sign them all." And then they should do that too.

The language is based on System Fω and the README links to some papers. The code may also be helpful.
OK now here are the same options but I'm asking, when limited to these choices, which of the following mattered most to you personally?
(you don't need to be able to vote in US elections to participate in either poll, I'm curious what everyone thinks about both.)
@futurebird corruption was already blatant in his first term ... I can't imagine more blatant corruption would make this difference. I'm guessing it's the gas and a distant second the ICE brutality.
And I should have finished reading your question before answering. Should have voted corruption ...oops.
@alcinnz @theruran A great resource to check out is the Elaboration Zoo by @AndrasKovacs : https://github.com/AndrasKovacs/elaboration-zoo/.
The data does not lie.
Black women turned out at 94% Democratic. Black men at 77%. Every non-white voting bloc leaned Democratic by double digits. White men voted Republican at 61%. White women at 59%.
If you want a progressive agenda in this country, it must be acknowledged and respected, that it runs through Black folx.
Black women specifically.
Doh, my carefully calculated gear sizes forgot to take into account the length of the gear teeth, not just the pitch circle for clearance. So I have to either move some to the other side of the bar or move to a three-level stackup for this section.

MORE LEVELS!
Crypto and AI super PACs spent $250 million on the midterms. In competitive races, their candidates got clobbered: nine losses out of 12 called so far, including Ohio, where crypto spent $64 million and still couldn’t beat Sherrod Brown.

@molly0xfff so they threw pocket change at it basically. Need to get money out of politics. If I could spend 25 cents to influence an election that should be illegal.
This is a whooooooole nother level....!! Memes are unreal now....
"Google launched a new tool in #Canada on Wednesday that will let users buy things with an AI chatbot, essentially eliminating the role of the e-commerce checkout cart..."
"... shoppers can buy items they discover through a conversation with the Gemini chatbot, or via the search engine while in "#AI mode." Purchases will be processed through Google Pay using shipping and payment details saved in Google Wallet. The individual retailer, not #Google, remains the seller of record, taking full legal responsibility for fulfilling the order...."

Today I wanna rep a big project that, on a personal level, I'm really excited for.
@imp3tuz has been organising a huge-ass deal that is Harare's FIRST skatepark.
We don't have a lot of money here at VIOLENCE. But we do have skateboards and shirts.
If you donate £15 to the fundraiser, send us proof and we'll send you a shirt. Free of charge. Donate £40 and you'll get a deck.
The goal is in sight. Go go go!!
So how long of a reprieve do we get from having to hear about politics?
i fucking love it when americans say they are going to “make some eggs” because it sounds like they are about to start laying them. go ahead my friend
ADVICE PLEASE!
A friend of mine who's a designer was applying to Canonical and saw a bunch of questions about their high school performance, etc.
That's super-weird, right? Is/should it be a red flag?
Seeing what’s happening with the election results, so many Democrats had folks focusing on candidates and not those ballot measures.
The wave is one thing, but that rip current is what’ll get ya!
@ReggieHere @mehdirhasan there are comprehensive records of who received compensation at the abolition of slavery.
Reparations could be facilitated via a substantial increase in inheritance tax, which could produce quite a lot of money whilst not penalising those families in which there is no longer any wealth.
The Alaska Senate race has been interesting. Peltola is back in the lead at 74% counted. Last night, Sullivan was ahead. I have no idea what the systematic biases are like there, so I don't know if that's likely to continue or not.
Okay but what do you mean they flipped KANSAS AND potentially MISSISSIPPI.
Hell. In Texas they flipped something like 20 seats in the state legislature—when in the Democrats' _wildest_ dreams they were talking more like 11—they flipped every single one of those gerrymandered districts that were meant dilute the democratic vote and remove democratic seats, and every state position in Texas flipped from red to blue overnight. I just saw a Republican politician down there describing it as an "extinction." Not "we plucky little stragglers are holding strong against the socialists" but an _extinction_.
That would be huge by itself.
But Kansas and potentially **Mississippi** as well?
Like okay. This won't mean much to more than 3 people who follow me, but:
Natchitoches Parish went for the Republican by +3 in this election.
**Natchitoches** went +3 for the Republican.
Yes, the Republican won both in Natchitoches and the state, but what I need you to understand is that:
1. The white population in Natchitoches is _deeply_ racist to this day.
2. The margin for Trump in 2024 was +22.
3. The republicans took nearly 62% of the vote in the senate race in 2022.
🇪🇸 The first Nextcloud Enterprise Day in Madrid brought together customers, partners and organisations from across Spain for a day of conversations about digital sovereignty in practice. Our ecosystem partners took the conversation further by sharing their insights in breakout sessions.
A big thank you to everyone who made this first Madrid edition such a success. The conversation continues!
