It's nice waking up today knowing that my #trans siblings might feel safer now in places like Texas. It seems there is hope.
But this isn't over yet. We must all continue punching NAZIs. And as they fall to the ground, let's not miss the opportunity to step on their necks.
Added WINDSOR to the surnames list so we get to occasionally blow up a Royal.
Like, there were people out here SUPER chuffed that Amy Acton won and I just need you to think about how that would make you feel if you were trans?
Y'all weren't RELIEVED that Vivek didn't win; you were chuffed Acton beat him. She was "on the team."
So the message here is that you're fine with me being pogromed as long as you win the elections.
Okay, so be it. But please understand that's a big part of why I don't trust Democrats, including Dem voters, and I'm not as excited as you are.
One thing I’ve been seeing in objection to taxing billionaires (as paid for by whom, d’ya think?) is: “But if we tax them, they will leave! 😱”
Um . . . good? If they don’t pay anything resembling their fair share, then we can do without their greed, thanks.
Quebec premier insists first formal meeting with Carney must be in Quebec City https://montrealgazette.com/news/provincial-news/provincial-politics/pspp-carney-first-meeting-quebec-city-request/?utm_source=Mastodon
@mtlgazette maybe they could negotiate so Carney's hanging halfway over the Ontario-Quebec border sign like in Bon Cop Bad Cop
Sleep is NOT for sissies. Sleep is important to body and brains. Those with sleep problems understand this well. The damage caused by lack of sleep is cumulative. Never let anyone make you believe that sleep is a waste of time.
@CStamp I still have friends that are like "ya I've only ever needed four hours a night" like it's some sort of skill or special sacrifice. No dude you're hurting yourself
Just........wow 🫨
35 of 35 (!!) ballot measures on data centres in US midterms vote to restrict data centre development
28 of 35 feature over 70% voting to crack down on data centres

*shrugs*
I mean I get that a lot of you feel safer today, but as a trans woman I'm still kinda concerned that the party in power would happily let nazis kill or imprison me if they thought it would help them win three suburban votes in a swing state so...
The idea that Democrats can protect you, presupposes they want to - in the case of trans people, they have made it very clear they do not.
I don't know that I'm going to trust these folks again. And I didn't trust them much before this.
show HN: does this rash look contagious?
a couple weeks ago i came across a thread full of people sharing their fursonas and OCs in redraws of this meme, and i feel like i'm going to get a lot of use out of my contribution
@emilylorange@mastodon.art
@majorlinux ugh... sorry you are having a time. Are other people and departments having the same issue?
(I knew a froend who works in architecture and his company's asset checkout bogs down so much. He can get his files faster when he is home vs at the office)
@Catwoman69y2k It’s not so much an issue when it gets going.
But every time after a forced reboot, this thing just doesn’t want to behave.

Step 1: the people have to overwhelmingly reject fascism 🌊
Step 2: we disempower the elites/oligarchy/techbros who use their wealth to corrupt everything and enrich themselves
The moment you're glad you put that big multi-core CPU in your PC instead of a fancier GPU two years ago, when you manage to run your statistics simulation run on all cores.
TIL: parallelizing R code is surprisingly easy with the doParallel package!
“Princeton University study: Public opinion has “near-zero” impact on U.S. law.
Gilens & Page found that the number of Americans for or against any idea has no impact on the likelihood that Congress will make it law.
“The preferences of the average American appear to have only a miniscule, near-zero, statistically non-significant impact upon public policy.”
One thing that does have an influence? Money.”

Haven't shot myself yet. I did blow up Gareth Noyce earlier though.
