I mean I get that a lot of you feel safer today, but as a trans woman I'm still kinda concerned that the party in power would happily let nazis kill or imprison me if they thought it would help them win three suburban votes in a swing state so...
The idea that Democrats can protect you, presupposes they want to - in the case of trans people, they have made it very clear they do not.
I don't know that I'm going to trust these folks again. And I didn't trust them much before this.
You het liberals are always nice and friendly the night you win. Everyone gets to hug and cry and celebrate. That's great, I'm happy for you - but some of the people celebrating with you would put me in a camp if they thought it would win their district. And that's a problem for me.
I mean brey, if ANY Dem Candidate, anywhere in the country, said the shit they say about trans people, about say Jewish people, they'd be thrown out of the party.
Again, you are sending messages all the time - just because you want me to forget the content of those messages, doesn't mean I'm going to. Because it's a matter of survival to me. I HAVE to remember which of you breeders would turn me over to an RFK work farm - NOT remembering might mean I perish.
The fact that nobody got thrown out of the party for uttering the words "biological males" when talking about trans women, tells me everything I need to know about you, what you stand for and WHO you're willing to sacrifice to head back to brunch.
So I'm happy for you - but don't pretend I should be happy for me. That remains to be seen.
Like, there were people out here SUPER chuffed that Amy Acton won and I just need you to think about how that would make you feel if you were trans?
Y'all weren't RELIEVED that Vivek didn't win; you were chuffed Acton beat him. She was "on the team."
So the message here is that you're fine with me being pogromed as long as you win the elections.
Okay, so be it. But please understand that's a big part of why I don't trust Democrats, including Dem voters, and I'm not as excited as you are.
