Perhaps the most uninformative piece of information about a private jet you could provide.
(this may be the case for 90% or more of private jets, which tend to be registered to randomly named LLCs in Delaware to hide the owner names)

Sometimes in FreeBSD you'll see people put

in the commit logs.
But I just spotted one someone did to a port for software that is exclusively used for piracy
like dude, why? why would you do that? ok sure maybe you updated the port on company time but now you just publicly linked your employer to piracy
Call me crazy, but I think we could just leave the clocks on standard time all year, and then adjust the time school starts as needed. Embrace the earth's axial tilt.
@shayman Close to my plan, but also just abolish scheduled schools, which are designed to turn kids into drones who march to schedule, do paperwork, have to beg to go to the can.
If kids want to go see a teacher, they can when they feel like getting up, going in. Same for the teachers, I'm sure many days it's "no thanks".
End time!

I think I might have hacked life. Seriously. I've been having a Very Deep Think, and it turns out that *some* things in my life are really really good, however *some* things in my life are not good. All I need to do is to make the not good ones stop happening, and make the good things just happen all the time. How do I do that please? Also there are some medium things but I don't think I need help with those.
@TheBreadmonkey taking notes: more good... And... Less bad? Hmm much to think about.

The Marie Equi Center, a #pdx nonprofit, has been very important to me this year. They're "a community where queer and trans Portlanders facing homelessness and poverty can access care, build relationships, and find stability without having to prove they deserve it." Events they've hosted have been a big source of connection and joy for me.
They're doing a fundraising drive and I'd appreciate it if you could help out with boosts or donations: https://giveguide.org/nonprofits/the-equi-institute

I received that email but the subject line didn't interest me so I deleted it unopened. 99% of me emails these days get deleted without opening.

Is there a way to not see duplicate of the same topic across different communities?
Hi everyone!
I’m really enjoying the Fediverse through Lemmy and Peertube.
One creator I enjoy and follow on the Fediverse is Gardiner Bryant as his content is really enjoyable.
Sadly he ´s the target of my post as he shares his content on many different communities that I follow.
Today I had 5 times the same topic on RetroDeck (great project too) on my feed on Lemmy (Voyager).
It is the same on PieFed (Interstellar).
This is really annoying and I haven’t found a way to not show these duplicates. Do you know about one or is it worked on?
Also when crossposting, it would be great if everything appeared under on post. Is it feasible?
Sorry if it’s easy and I just missed it. In a way I hope it is because it would mean that the Fediverse is festure rich😇
Studying Papyrix's code for rendering plain text ebooks...
The open routine closes the existing file if any, initializes & resets a support library, has that support library load its data propagating any errors, clears metadata, extracts a title, extracts a cache & cover filepaths, & sets a couple properties.
The close method resets that support library & the metadata.
And to calculate page number it estimates that a screenfull is 2KiB of text.
As for that support library...
1/?
The support library's constructor constructs a cache path, & carefully extracts the file's basename for its title.
To load data it carefully opens the file long enough to retrieve its size, then sets a flag & logs what its doing.
Clearing cache deletes a directory if it exists. Setting up a cache dir involves creating the directories if they don't exist. The cover is stored in that cache dir as "cover.bmp".
There's a wrapper around the GfxRenderer cover-finding util.

This is all because you didn't forward that chain email in 1993.
Luckily, the two series that I really want to read right now I've both been able to find another book of in the library:
My local library has the complete Dungeon Crawler Carl series, so I'm just carefully managing pausing my holds, so that they don't all arrive at once, but I also don't have to wait months between each book in the series, because these are very popular right now
I was able to find enough copies to The Dark Glory war (the prequel to Fortress Draconis) by Michael Stackpole at various Canadian libraries in worldcat that I'm confident my interlibrary loan request through UBC library will get me *something*
The choice is simple, Michigan. If you don't vote for Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, a Rhodes Scholar, a public servant on the frontlines of healthcare for Michiganders, then you're voting for Jared Kushner's lawless oligarchy, where everyone is in danger. https://youtu.be/gNOboys3-sc
