This is one of the best data visualization sites I’ve ever seen. Super engaging, even on a subject I’m pretty blasé about (movies and actors and fame):
Samsung reports Q3 revenue up 127% YoY to a record ~$146.3B and a record operating profit up 783% to ~$80.5B, both roughly in line with estimates (Jenny Lee/CNBC)

Hiding

Andrew Healey Pointed an AI Agent and Ghidra at Fast Food Tycoon 2's 4,046 Functions and Found How It Kept Customers Visible Through Walls

This time Captain Kirk infiltrates the Romulan empire though the writers don’t even care about the A plot, or the B plot, or the C plot. It’s really not clear at all what is going on and then the episode just ends.
Exactly right!
The Senate SpaceX Hearings will make excellent TV.
@cjmoose @douglasvb Their tent was found next to that lake down there in the middle (image rotated, 3D). The peak there right above. There already look to me to be two possible avy runouts visible in the 3D there...

Shocking
@nolan for my own stuff I now use https://dlants.me/vamp.html because it's close to the browser APIs and is easy to understand. (Pardon the self promotion)
@dlants I'd be interested to see if such micro-frameworks can outcompete pure vanilla. Based on my experiment, vanilla actually doesn't do great compared to htmx, Astro, etc., so it feels like having a bit of structure helps.
I'm happy to say I've been writing some folktales, and it has been a nice experience. I've got one called "Why the Fog Comes at Night", and another called "Why Trillium Lives Among the Redwoods".
They've been so much fun to create. Choosing to write stories in the forms of folktales grants a massive margin for error. Folktales can sometimes be stilted and declamatory, and for new writers that's not a bad characteristic. I feel less pressure to create "smooth prose" and "character development" and "plots that make sense". If I were writing a novel... ooh, boy, I'd be sunk.
But these bite-sized short stories haven't resulted int he nightmare I was told writing could bring on. It has been a relief to start small and build in increments.
And I'm also realizing that the three pieces of art I've made with these characters in mind are deeply •mine• in ways that some of my other works in the past haven't been. I've enjoyed the making of these pieces, and the thought put into them, very differently than I enjoy the birds I paint.
I could get used to this. I could very much get used to this.
anyway the upshot of all that is that it's trizday give me boosts
