Which I know because I do read the chart, because I do not want to waste the provider's time.
@tsturm @jalefkowit Which is a little weird because the marginal cost of an obscure media item sitting on a server is pretty close to zero. I'd think there is a lot of money to be made in the long tail of streaming media.
@chrisod @tsturm It's not the cost of storage (though that is going up quickly these days). It's figuring out who holds the rights to the property, finding a way to contact that person or corporation, convincing them to take a meeting with you, getting them to sign a contract assigning you streaming rights, working out a profit-sharing arrangement with them, etc.
All that is up-front expense you only bother with if you think there's enough downstream profit potential to pay it back and then some.
