The story of Peter Molyneux’s romance with AI is probably similar to those of a lot of game studio heads. He starts by talking about a concept artist on his team who he calls a genius, and the process he had for working collaboratively with that genius artist to produce a gorgeous result. And then he gets enthusiastic about how AI means that now he can fire that guy
@twipped You know you've made some excellent career choices when an interviewer starts their conversation with you by asking "do you think that you're a PATHOLOGICAL liar?"

@jalefkowit Tbh I expected this from the man. For me the real gut punch was Richard Garriot jumping on the AI hype train. There's a guy that should know better.
In fairness, one of the very first entries in my personal “never meet your heroes” file was learning that Peter Molyneux was awful so it’s not like any of this comes as a huge surprise
@jalefkowit “clearly the only reason people hate AI is because it used to be bad. it’s so good now that I can fire my favourite concept artist! we should be more like the advertising industry! it’s inevitable, we don’t have a choice, it’s so good! … why do you have pitchforks?”
@jalefkowit I'll never forgive him for how badly he fucked up Godus
