@neil I have a predecessor of this one. I thought it would be great for holidays when I only have my phone with me. but it always ended up being more hassle than it's worth and I used glide typing on my phone instead. YMMV
@kolya I use a folding Bluetooth keyboard with my phone loads, and this was rather an impulse buy!

looks like a #fediblock from here
@passocacornio @sunnydazed I don’t think so specifically, but my initial impression is automated harassment or involuntary LLM “moderation” (which is the former with a thin veneer of an excuse)
@davidgerard have you seen anything along these lines before?
@zzt @passocacornio @sunnydazed nah but definitely a defed on sight

If you can read this, then my new £9, USB-C charging, folding Bluetooth keyboard works.
And it is a surprisingly fine typing experience, based on this initial testing.
I will write some more notes once I have spent a bit more time with it.

when a bakery announces they won't put asbestos in their cake frosting you must not point out they're already putting asbestos in their cake filling, you see
Today I bought a pack of assorted washers of various sizes, which were described with dimensions like “28mm × 32mm”, which was simultaneously (A) perfectly comprehensible [inner diameter × outer diameter], (B) hilariously weird, and (C) an unforgivable transgression against the sacred dictates of mathematics and geometry.
@gregeganSF How do you know its diameter and not radius or circumference?
And what about the thickness?

every time they announce a new ipad i go through a yearly kinda thought process of confusion about what an ipad is even for. it isnt an actual computer, it doesnt have a proper file system, or a keyboard (just the shitty flappy fabric one), an e-reader is surely better for reading. it can take photos, but why?? watching movies on a plane maybe? annotating PDFs? procreate i guess? i think “portable digital art” is the only use case that can justify spending hundreds on something so useless????
@jk it’s roughly the size of a sheet of paper so works well for piano sheet music. I’m frustrated tho by the lack of sheet music apps that take digital archival seriously - many include their own digital storefront. And nobody has so far figured out how to make working with a stylus as easy or better than pencil/paper
