Dont know why - But the game invites you (compels me) to make a lighthouse at your main base. Have been through 3-4 characters, and they all had one. Maybe its the graphics? I like to return with my metal at night, at notice the ligth as the first thing in comming "home"
This one is a quick and easy model, because im onwards to the deep north....not in a hurry, but also not with the big sidequests....

@prtn I do enjoy a good lighthouse.

@conniptions Okay. I am using mod_php. However to my alarm disabling mod_php does not seem to disable php, and I don't know what to make of that.
@mcc That is definitely alarming and makes me wonder if you, in fact, are perhaps not using mod_php after all, if php persists after disabling and hupping. Apparently there are several php-fpm alternatives called helpful things like Swoole and Roadrunner (I had no idea about them until two minutes ago) - perhaps you are running one of them?
I really wish some more consistent #scriptingLanguage had made its way into browsers instead of #Javascript. I can write it and somewhat debug it but it's an ugly mug and very frustrating. Learning one way of doing things may not translate to another use case. And I'm sticking with vanilla JS, no frameworks.

Good news, I made it to the church, and there’s a nice woman here. I’m sure she’ll help Harry find his daughter and everyone can go home soon. Continuing Silent Hill~ https://www.twitch.tv/robotspacer #Twitch

There's an account in here who said they're being hit by a few million ips each hitting 2 or 3 pages. Would iocaine also help in that case ?
@rakoo possibly. From what I've seen, those scrapers that use millions of ips work from a queue. Poison the queue, and you can avoid serving even one such request.
Last December, I was hit by such a wave1, each IP sending no more than 5 requests (usually fewer). But they all hit poisoned urls, and were caught. I taught iocaine to firewall them off, and it's been quiet ever since.
Mind you, poisoning the queue takes time - I've been doing that for almost two years now. Dropping iocaine in does not immediately solve the problem. With that said, I've recently had someone report that they've seen the poisoned urls work their magic within days.
I measured ~8k req/sec sustained over a week, from millions of unique, mostly residential IPs from around the globe. It was likely higher, but my vps was unable to handle the tls handhakes and fell over, and I couldn't afford scaling it up further. ↩︎

25+ years of database changes led to some divergence between docs, scripts, and dumped ddl. Let's reconcile them and come up with some fixes.
