@pinskia I started out cautiously optimistic about Rust. Between the Palantir nazi situation and the embrace of vibecoded RIIR shit, I am so done with Rust. Something being written in Rust is an immediate "do not want". I hope eventually the GCC Rust frontend will make it possible to use the occasional Rust stuff I might need for something, but I really hate it.
@dalias if you want to get more annoyed, check who the "Project Directors" of the Rust foundation work for and combine that with the member directors (who carry the company affiliation on their sleeve) to see who owns Rust.

Does it really take 5 companies to carry out 1 ad campaign? How much are KB customers (effectively) paying for all this? It does feel a bit like 4 blokes getting paid to watch the new guy dig a hole.
