Nice seasonable Tuesday morning. An intergrade Northern Flicker was working the lawn for food. This bird shows red shafts and gray nape, ear coverts, throat and crown of a Red-Shafted. The malar stripe is black (mostly) characteristic of a Yellow-Shafted.
